i followed this guide to complete my first build. I wanted something small and quiet so i went with a different case. Im also a in store kind of guy because i have no patience in waiting for something to arrive. Local frys had everything i needed.

Everything has been assembled but cannot get it to boot. Im not sure if its the 150W psu that came with the case or if i purchased a bad mobo. Ive read plenty of negative reviews on the mobo but im hoping its not that. im planning on purchasing a higher psu and hopefully fix the problem. what would you suggest??
proc only uses 65watts so dont think its the CPU ...

does it boot to post or completely nothing ?
150w psu should be fine.

What do you mean by not booting?
its not starting at all?
thanks for the replies.

not booting up at all. no Post
Im not sure if i understand it right - when u press power button on case there is no reaction at all? ie all fans (psu / cpu etc) are not working? no beeping?
If so check if you correctly connected power button to mobo. (I guess PSU to mobo is connected Big Grin)
haha im sure everything is where its suppose to be but never hurts to look twice. it was 4am when i assembled it afterall lol
dont think its the mobo... its a good mobo!

PSU is connected to mobo using the 20+4 connection?

you plugged the 4pin CPU power to mobo?

Case's power button is connected to mobo's control panel? at the right place?
hey guys i can honestly say the sleep got the best of me. came home just now looked over my work and saw the switch for the case had come off (maybe due to such a compact case??) hooked it back up and booted succesfully!

now to get a win 7 usb bootable and ill be set to get my XMBC setup going.

thanks for the replies guys really appreciate it

will provide pics of my build once i get everything going

p.s. last time i build a pc/htpc at 4am lol but i just couldnt help myself ^_^
great news, when your ready, shows us some pics Smile

heres pics of the build. so far its great!. got it working within minutes thanks to mysql database. psu fan does tend to get louder but nothing to harsh.

There is'nt enough room for a stock cooling solution and a GPU. I don't want to spend extra money to get the Pico PSU. Can you confirm this eskro?

BTW thank you for your great posts!
i dont recall people complaining about that,,,
and also, you could try finding the tallness spec of your CPU Cooler,
but even then,
the Scythe BIG Shuriken SCBSK-1000 http://ow.ly/1tRMFR will fit for sure
if anything,,,

but again, google'ing around i stumbled on this thread here
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1416216
they do say stock intel cooling fits

and this will be your stock cooling size --> http://ow.ly/1tRP9u
eskro, I was wondering, is there a particular reason you chose this case? Seems like there are so many choices out there, just wondering if there is something in particular about this one.
