If you are getting tired of buffering when streaming 1080P video on YouTube, you can download it to your hard drive with YouTube HD Downloaders below. Then you can playback the file using XBMC...you'll never have to put up with buffering again!

Also I use www.clipconverter.cc and it's universal as you don't have to install anything, all in browser!
I prefer this one, again all in browser:

Of course the XBMC YouTube plugin can download videos to disk can't it?

Thanks for the script! Laugh
Any idea if there is a way to get XBMC to download trailers in this fashion when scraping instead of just storing a link to the trailer so that you don't have to deal with buffering when viewing trailers?
useful...tks

No. But that would be quite awesome Smile
Automatic for Mac now has a feature to download You Tube videos in the background.

I still use this website savefrom, to download YouTube videos.
Found that the HD Youtube Downloader is useful.
Youtube Downloader HD also converts file types of videos into .AVI and .MP4 so that most video players can read them.Very easy to download and it is so fast. Within seconds it will grab and download our YouTube video in the format of our choice (including .FLV and .MP4), and the quality of our choice as well (1040HD, 720HD, medium quality).
Thanks for the information.
And just because I like all in browser https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...audio-dow/

And theres is a Kodi addon called youtube-dl and once more the previous youtube addon for xbmc still works fine for downloading, the new youtube addon will likely (in my opinion only) never support this feature for internal political reasons.

Thank you I'm looking for some time after such an addon what finally works!
This is an old thread but, last post was from this year lets be clear about something.
It's against YouTube's terms and conditions, to download videos, which say you can only use its content for streaming,
Or is it?
This is still the only information i can find, but since this post has not been "thrashed" by a "TK" i would like to know if Google/Youtube has changed the TERMS.
And please provide a link to the terms saying you can download as you please.

My post came out a little harsh/wrong, i have been sick for some days now so do not put to much into the "tone" of my post.
But i would like to know if Google/Youtube has changed their TERMS regarding Downloading Video's.
Because i can only find where it says its not allowed.
UPDATE:
Fair Use
In the United States, fair use is determined by a judge, who analyzes a specific case based on a set of principles. Different countries have different rules about when it’s okay to use material without the copyright owner’s permission. For example, in the United States, works of commentary, criticism, research, teaching, or news reporting might be considered fair use. Some other countries have a similar idea called fair dealing that may work differently.

When does fair use apply:
Your usage is not automatically fair use when you use copyrighted material you don’t own, even if you give credit to the copyright owner, post a disclaimer such as "no infringement intended," or add some original content to someone else's content. In particular, uses that do not comment on or criticize the content used (and that instead serve as a substitute for the original work) are unlikely to be considered fair uses.

Well that was informative very helpful.
ITS def illegal to download copyrighted material, and then again maybe not.

Kodi fair use rules
5. Fair use exceptions apply for issues such as small video samples for testing and debugging, fanart and related artwork, video and audio summaries, subtitles, etc.

This is just meant as some INFO, so don't flame me because you think i am complaining i can see my post looks that way but as i have explained in my first post that is not the case.
Not sure why my post came out that way i tried to be careful so it would not look like i had a silver spoon up my "*"
