Am I missing anything? Do I need a case fan? Looking for something a bit future proof. Full 3DBR access, record BR's when time calls. Some light gaming, add Crossfire and 2/3TB 5400rpm down the road.

Picked G.Skill because I see it so often around here.

Well I had G skill and problems after problems with it.... BSOD.... at work we have tons of crucial.... it's cuz they are reliable. I just recently picked up kingstone and no problems what so ever.... my mother board even picked up the SPD.... well it's up to you.

I'm leaning this way, as opposed to an i3 build. I wonder how temps will be if I kick up the Mhz on the chip.

watch out for heatsinks on those crucial ram sticks...
may interfere with big shuriken..

I've read one of the Newegg reviews that the shuriken is no good with RAM with a height greater than 31.5mm.

Basically I'm looking for a reliable brand, good ratings 1866Mhz, 2x4gb.

I have that cooler + CASE and can confirm that it fits right in. OBS The cooler makes it impossible for one RAM stick to be taller than 3cm, but the other 3 slots are not affected by the cooler so with your dual config it shouldn't be a problem

EDIT: Woops just saw your post onizuka but yeah I have just mesured my CASE and yes 31.5mm would just touch the cobber on the shuriken

play it safe, get Kingston HyperX like beer40 uses on his htpc.
