hey to all,...
the subject of this post is about the possibility to "play" milkdrop 2 visu in xbmc,....
i think it should be possible to do that with "Project-M 2.0 " ,...
http://projectm.sourceforge.net/
http://sourceforge.net/scm/?type=git&group_id=104201
right or not,...?
is the response is "yes"
must i compile the merged tow sources,...
in this case can you indicate me some directions to do that,....
thx for your comprehension,...
...sorry for the first question...
the answer is "yes" projectM can display milkdrop 2 visualization...
...there is a porjectm folder named "visualization.projectm"...
in the addons folder of the root Xbmc's folder
but this addon dont appear in my instance of xbmc...
i have only the choice for the visualisation between,...
milkdrop 1.0
waveform
directxspectrum
....but no projectm....
sorry in advance if my question is not "..interressant..." or "....adapted..." but
i would like to know
how i can run projectm
can somebody have the patience to answer this noob question,...??
thx for your comprehension,...
...
projectM is a music visualizer with a reimplementation of Milkdrop under OpenGL,....
xbmc under windows use directx,...
can we use projectM (openGL) with xbmc under windows (directx) ,...??
.....
Notice how quiet it's been
OpenGL for Windows is not really supported now, but porting to DirectX would be fine if you're game...

i was afraid that my question was stupid,...
so... no luck with porjectM with xbmc under windows,....
thx for your intervention,...
....
that can maybe bring some ideas,...
...opengl to direct3d wrapper...
titaniumgl
...??
Sooner or later one of the win devs will likely have a go at it, but it'll take time
... i understand well,...
so,...to be continued,....
...Well,...
what do you think about this
OGLplus
....
Code:
OGLplus is a collection of open-source, cross-platform libraries which implement an object-oriented facade over the OpenGLĀ® (version 3 and higher) and also OpenALĀ® (version 1.1) and EGL (version 1.4) C-language APIs. It provides wrappers which automate resource and object management and make the use of these libraries in C++ safer and more convenient
...is it a possible solution for the "management" of openGL with DirectX,...
can you tell me just is it a possible way,...
... in fact
it is seems be possible,.... !!!!
....
the difficulties to made that possible
can be in relation with
the degree of overlap of the render libraries used by XBMC,...
....
Code:
quid the position of the dev team of XBMC
....
No Reactions from the DEV Team ....
--->
.....
It's a wrapper around OGL, not sure what you want us to do with it.
Hey MrC ...
first thx for your intervention,...
here is my position,...
it is seems be possible depending the degree of overlap of the render libraries used by XBMC,
to manage OpenGL under DirectX with OGLplus
i would like use ProjectM (reimplementation of Milkdrop under OpenGL)
with XBMC for windows wich is under direct X,...
what do you think about this possibilty...?
I don't see how OGLPlus would help in running opengl under DirectX. As I already mentioned OGLPlus is just a wrapper around OGL so to use it you would have to rewrite projectm to use OGLPlus and when you have done that it will still be using OGL underneath. You would have to write a DirectX version of OGLPlus if you then wanted it to run on DirectX.
If all you want is to run Milkdrop2 in XBMC then it would be 100x easier to just port it or failing that wait just a little longer until someone else does...
...
thx for your clarification of this situation ...
thx for yout patience,...
anyway it would be good to have MilkDrop on xbmc for windows,...
