Full Version: XBMC for Smart TV

What if a version of XBMC ran off of a smart TV? To me, that would be pretty cool. XBMC v12 introduced HD audio with the new AudioEngine, so it would fit really nicely in home theater surround sound systems. It would be also cool if XBMC's settings on your desktop carried over to your TV.
Please search the forum before creating a new thread. There are/were several discussions on the topic. There are a lot of different Smart TV systems out there, every one of them using a different environment, different SDK and different app policies. Most of them only allow HTML5 apps which makes anything but an xbmc remote more or less impossible.

I googled it beforehand to see if there were existing threads on this topic or not, and, unless I've overlooked something, there were none for which I could see.

Granted there is no real discussion but that's simply because smart tv platforms are so limited when it comes to (native) apps.
