How do I make the XBMC Tile in my start menu the Large Wide Tile? Is there third party software I need?

That's AFAIK not possible with windows board tools as the tile is no (metro) live tile but rather a desktop symbol (tile).... you should search for some custom tiles tools like this http://www.ghacks.net/2012/09/27/create-...-oblytile/
