Full Version: Default list view?

It seems that any add-on I install defaults to list view under this skin. I prefer everything to be uniform for the most part, but I prefer other views. Some add-ons have a large number of menus and sub-menus and the only way to change the view type is to change them manually, one by one. To make things worse, if the add-on updates, I am left having to do all this work again.
Is there a way to set my default view mode to say, media info instead so I can keep everything looking just the way I like it and save myself a ton of work?
It is doable, but you would need to manually edit skin XMLs.
Well, since I am mostly illiterate to that sort of thing, I would need a little more help than that.
Where do I find the file I need to edit?
What do I need to edit it?
Open up MyVideoNav.xml. At the beginning you will see line "views". Put the number of your favorite view to be first on the list.
