I have a large library and find my acer revo pc's way too slow for my liking with pseudotv (main pc with a 4130t processor is fine). I would like to replace the acer revo's with something small and quiet. Anyone using the intel nuc DN2820? If so, how do you find it with pseudotv?
So I've tried getting this working again, downloaded the lataest master from direct link in first post. I cleaned my library(Hulu issues), allthough failed entries never caused the issues I am getting when I had .3.5 working. I started from scratch and built pvr/tv genre/movie genre/and popcorn tv channels. After it's done building the channels xbmc just hangs at the program addon screen, navigation sounds can be heard, and I have to force close xbmc. Log was created after building channels the previous run, then launching pseudotv the next start.

XBMC Logs
Edit

this has my log, settings, and settings2 in it from trying to autotune ustvnow.

no channels where built.

you need to enable debugging google 'xbmc log level wiki'

also check your PM!

Sorry, I think you misunderstand me. I am currently not using the automatic settings in PTVL to create BCT's. I have in fact done them all myself by interleaving directory channels as it gives me more freedom. I have had this setup since using the original PTV. Older versions of PTVL worked it is just the recent builds. The problem I have is that the newer versions of PTVL seem to ignore my channel rules and skip the interleaved directory based channels.

Here is a snippit of my setup

Channel 1 - is a directory channel (It plays a video clip of my channel guide) <--- This channel works fine
Channel 2 - is a directory channel (A folder where I put pre-school educational videos for my daughter) <--- This channel works fine
Channel 3 - is an action genre channel with:
Rule: Interleaved channel 201 - hidden directory channel (Folder with bumpers)
Rule: Interleaved channel 202 - hidden directory channel (Folder with Adverts)
Rule: Interleaved channel 203 - hidden directory channel (Folder with Trailers) ....This rule setup is on all my movie and show channels but the new PTVL skips the interleave rules.

I have two channels that use interleaving (channel 1 & 30) and one of them works (30) and the other one doesn't. I've forced an update on all channels numerous times and it's always results in the same thing. I can't get my log to post to any of the paste sites. I assume it's because it's too large 100,000+ lines. So here it is on my dropbox:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/tmuk63vpa83cegs/xbmc.log

I just updated to XBMC Beta 3 and the latest GIT of PTVL and now neither of my channels interleave. Yes, I deleted "addon/script.pseudotv.live" and "userdata/script.pseudotv.live/cache" before updating. I would post a log, but PTVL makes the logs so huge that I can't seem to paste the contents anywhere that will publish it.
is it possible to hide the background channel loading/adding notification?
Thanks Lunatixz, I saw someone on the forums ask about plutotv, and was going to point out it should be possible in ptvl(w/ YouTube search/playlist channels). Have you checked out the android apk, maybe it could make things easier?

Also, any update on the PVR backend EPG, or is this on hold until Gotham?

I'll look into it... Another user also reported a problem. Can you give More details? Are the channels local, smb?

Yes, but I'm not interested in adding it as an option.

I'm no longer thinking its viable. I found no matter what I set in PVR settings I couldn't get more then a days worth of EPG data. Which would mean ptvl would have to rebuild everyday...
It will require further investigation. If the epg3.db can store at least 3 days of listings per channel then we would be golden.
I promise to give it another go... When I have time to look into it...

Yup, I have the exact same findings and the problem is on both my machine with local files and with my other that uses SMB sharing. I can provide logs if needed.
I just triple checked every possible type of channel interleaving and they all work!! below are a few problems that could be causing issues.

1. if you are using a "directory" type channel you can only build from the root directory, subfolders are ignored... (nothing new here!!)
2. from my tests I noticed that even tho advanced rules are set, if you change the channels settings (ie type of show or directory) even tho the settings in advanced are still there, they don't take.
You need to reenter advanced rules and click save again for the advanced settings to apply to the channel changes.... In short you should always reenter advanced settings menu and back out and save after a change in that channels settings.

hope this helps let me know...

Btw this doesn't rule out possible conflicts with multiple rules stacked onto one channel. In order to find that problem (if it exists) would require users to compare channels rules with each other. See if there is a repeatedly pattern I can test out.
::Update::

Putting some finishing touches on Direct Plugin Channel building... it will function similar to My-library, except instead of building strms it will build a channel. The Code is a little sloppy, but works!! I will improve on it as I go.

There are limitations... some major ones... the plugins that label their media as a 'directory' instead of 'file'. Won't work!! unfortunately there isn't a simple way to test if the addon is correctly formatted. So I will add a prompt "Plugin not compatible"
I don't' know the reason why dev's are using 'directory' instead of file... I'm not familiar with building video plugins.

More details to come...

Post 2 updated with more chtype 15 details, I might push the update later for you guys to play with...

BTW the chtype 15 function works similar to how I autotune USTVnow. I hope that this weird problem with USTVnow not working for some users doesn't carry over to the new channel type. Hopefully it's only a bug with the USTVnow plugin.

::Update::

Git updated version v.0.3.7 includes beta chtype 15. Read post 2 for details, no need for bug logs for chtype 15... just post your experiences for now...
Ah i've been struggling with this all day, finally broke down and had to make a post...

What I'm trying to do is set up USTVnow free channels in PTVL, it's basically telling me that I don't have the channels configured right (they don't show up in the guide at all)

1. I would post a log but I don't know how, I enabled the debugging option in PTVL config but i don't see a log generated anywhere. I'm not getting any crazy wierd errors so I don't think it's that serious of a problem.

2. I pretty much have no clue what a xmltv file is. I managed to figure it out - kind of.... but no where in this thread does anyone actually say what information needs to be IN this file. Here is my xmltv.xml file that i am pointing to in the PTVL configuration: http://pastebin.com/d8NxEjPR I'm not even sure if i need this file since it's not indicated anywhere in the configuration that I need this to get USTVnow channels to work but i included it anyways. The one thing that mystifies me is that if the xmltv.xml file is the one that is populating the TV guide program information on the live channels then how/when does this file get updated? Am I supposed to generate this file every time I want to know what's on TV?

3. I have USTVnow XBMC pluggin properly configured with my username and pw at lowest quality. I can watch the USTVnow channels from within XMBC no problem.

4. Here is a settings2.xml file that i'm using just for the sake of testing: http://pastebin.com/zcg6yZUX as you can see it is literally copy/paste from the 1st post. It should work perfectly since there are no further instructions in the original post on how to configure these channel settings with USTVnow!

5. I know it's not a problem with my PTVL installation or general setup because I can get the rest of my regular channels to work just fine. I even have some VEVOTV and youtube channels that are working perfectly too. The only channels that aren't working are the USTVnow ones.

This is the error that I get when I start PTVL: "Unable to populate channels. Please verify that you have scraped media in your library and that you have properly configured channels."

I know it's a generic error and i'm sure it's just a problem with my channel setup but for the life of me I can't see where I went wrong.
@Demivoin you don't need any xmltv info with ustvnow. PTVL supplies it. Without a log I can't tell you why it doesn't work. Google xbmc log level. Learn how to enable debugging and send me a log. Also are you using my ustvnow pluging? And have you tried ustvnow autotuning?
