I had this problem. Just force channel reset and mine worked normally (except everything starts at the beginning, but luna already said he found the problem)

(2014-06-23, 08:23)pharmeceutikle Wrote: [ -> ]Ok. I manually installed 4.5 and redid everything from scratch. It's behaving the same way it has since upgrading from 4.4. What happens is that it goes through the entire setup. It reaches the end and then gets stuck. PTVL will never start. It just hangs and never initiates the final step which is to get into PTVL itself. I remember having this issue in an earlier build but about two builds later it magically went away. I had to sit on a few non-working builds and I wanna be a bit more proactive of trying to get to the bottom of this issue. I believe it has something to do with my XBMC setup that has this problem pop up every now and then. Anyways, attached is my log. I noticed a buttload of errors and I wonder if it has anything to do with why my PTVL is not working.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/w7n34uxybi6xryu/xbmc.log

their is something wrong with the youtube community network list, I"ll right an exception to ignore the problem in the future. For now don't build that list.

It's working now. Thanx!
I asked this about a week ago and only got one response so I thought I'd ask again. So I am not able to bring up the OSD while in PTVL. I especially want to get to the subtitle, audio and video menus under the OSD using the DVD menu button on my MCR remote. I was told to check if the keyboard stroke for OSD, M was set to the DVD menu button. I am using the MCR remote addon and it has worked like a charm for everything else in native XBMC. Im just running into this hiccup with in the Pseudotv addon. When I set the keystroke to M to bring up the OSD it works in native XBMC but not in PTVL. Is there anything else I can do to fix this issue. As of right now I have to stop PTVL and go to the video I was playing to bring up the menu to change any of the settings. Help would very much be apprieciated

i am using openelec on a few systems and i tried them all. all of them build 49 channels out of 60.
after 4 hours it created only 49 and wouldnt continue. from 40-60 are all playlists so number 50 isnt different from 49.
i tried NFS, SMB and locally on the machine. the same outcome on all options.

Why are you running openelec? are you running on a low power pc or raspberry? did you install openelec on a hard drive or class 10 sd card?

i have a few endpoints in various rooms.
openelec is the best solution since the install and maintenance is very easy to do and since i use those endpoints as media centers only, i dont need the extra xbmcubuntu overhead.

the machine that acctually populate the channels is a strong machine with ssd and 8 gb ram.

just checked the logs on the channels that got stuck and i got this

Is it possible to change the buttons for entering EPG, and surfing channels (next/prev) in the Keymap file?

Absolutely.

Thanks! but how is it done? As in what is the name of the buttons I need to change to do that?

I have quite same issue also. Artwork Downloader uses almost always fanart.tv as source and I get only German pictures there. Although I have selected "English" as my setting and there is English pictures available.
I asked from Artwork Downloader topic from forums, if there is way to select/block source. But haven't got answer yet.

PTVL uses it own picture cache, where it scrapes images using artwork downloader. It's located: userdata/addon_data/script.pseudotv.live/cache/artwork or something. Sorry can't verify path atm..

What you can do, and what I have done, to replace images in cache with images that you desire.. It's tedious job though. And do a backup of those images if you happen to clear your caches-

I would also be interested that you would be able the use the images already scraped for the movies/tv-shows. I use Ember MM for scraping and all my artwork/fanarts/posters are located at my network server.

Hey thanks. Yeah I found that cache for PTVL. If I go and start replacing art, I think Im going to replace it in the folder with the movie and let PTVL load it and cache it. Then I know where the art is and not worry about backing up the cache if I need to reinstall xbmc or something.

Probably this weekend I think Im going to try to use a family block program (like one that you can block sites with....used mostly by parents for their kids)...and block fanart.tv and run the artwork downloader.....maybe after it fails to get stuff from fanart.tv it will get it from themoviedb
(2014-06-24, 00:06)Lunatixz Wrote: [ -> ]::Update::

I suspect the recent channel building slow downs is an I/O problem with the new caching system. I'm running all my pc's on SSD drives so it's fast, but as you go from ssd, to hard drive to sd card the performance suffers.

I'll tweak the cache to use both memory and storage.

I am now working on getting the PC downstairs working. It has been scanning for the past nearly 5 hours. In the past in never took that long, I've got my fingers crossed that you're new tweak fixes it Blush

I ask because usually users use openelec on low power devices... and in that case your slow channel build is because of that...

I'm re writing a lot more code now Sad limited the amount of querys and writes to speed things up...

I would not mess with anything in the cache folder... it's there for PTVL not for users! think of it as ram... it's volatile memory! and would be a waste of time...
just an fyi - thanks to this add-on i'm looking to ditch windows on my mac mini and move to openelec for livetv. Thanks Luna!

Thanks to you also. Made understand that feature that I was asking was already here. My reading comprehension has done tricks on me, but it was stated in post1 and now no need to change images in cache as it anyway will empty someday and might interfere with something as Lunatixz mentioned above. Angel

It states at post1 that default skin uses "landscape" image (aka Thumb 16:9 from XBMC Naming conventions). My scarper software hasnt scraped those images cause thetvdb or themoviedb doesn't provide such images. landscape image is thumbnail sized fanart in short terms. And only place that has those are fanart.tv.
So get the right images that you want to be shown in the, default skin, EPG; just place 16:9 (500x281px preferably) picture named "landscape.jpg" to the your movies folder or root of the tv-show.

Still no aswer why artwork downloader picks always the wrong language ones.
So now after I the latest update it just sits on loading screen, I reset my channels like suggested above, then I actually deleted pstvl addon and userdata folder and reinstalled but the same problem, it just sits on loading after it aske me if I want to autotune. Any tips? Thanks

I wont, I did find that folder, but as soon as I saw the naming scheme was not like "poster" or "clearart" Im changing the art where my movie files are and letting PTVL cache them. I figure it will be slower the first time it sees the image, but Im cool with that. Smile

I'm having the exact same problem. Fresh install of XBMC 13.1, all dependencies installed etc. PTVL loads up and asks to autotune but after that it just hangs on the loading screen.
