I downloaded the latest Dev branch to check out the new super fast EPG, but I can;t get PTVL to run right. When I start it is goes to the last channel but the overlay screen is stuck on and won't. I can't do anything except exit PTVL and even once back in XBMC the overlay screen is still visible and I can't go anywhere in XBMC. I even did a fresh install of PTVl and it does the same.

Here is a log. It is only a partial as the full log was to big for pstebin. I grabbed it from where it first mention PTVL so hopefully it is enough to see what's going on.

every few times i manage to populate a full set of channels and then it will get stuck again.
since most of the channels work just fine with hebrew info & title, i think it has something to do with a few media types that causes the channel to stop populating.
i had something like this with the original PTV and it was resolved (it didnt manage to read a certain type of files)
if i put the checkbox under debugging, will it tell me what media it is populating in the channels?
i am trying to pinpoint which type of media or file is causing this to halt (maybe FLV or certain MP4 files)? maybe a illegal character that i can remove?

i was right!! i cleaned up the DB and started adding one show at a time.
each time checked the plugin.
one of the shows screwed it!!!... i am trying to pinpoint the episode that is causeing the population to halt but can you add maybe a "ignore on errors" in your code?
if it cant read it, ignore it?

Yes but a newer one may shed light on the issue as I track the problem...
Also sending me as much info as you could would also be helpful, seting2, m3u to channel that has the issue along with logs.

i found out that one episode from White Collor screwed up the whole build.

but when i got back to the full DB, other working TV channels stopped populating.
so again, i need to find in the log which shows are causing the builds to freeze.
unless i need to go show show and eliminate the problem.

i reset the same show with the same episodes but this time on SMB (the whole TV show library) and this time it didnt freeze.

can it be that PTVL doesnt like NFS?

I understand you want to help, but your posts are going to be misleading to other users...In the last month you have thrown out accusations against PTVL compatibility with MYSQL, SMB, NFS... when your only problem is the Hebrew text.
Be patient, I will look into the Hebrew text and fix your problem... till then unless you have a concrete log that shows a problem, I would appreciate you relax and enjoy MYSQL, SMB, NFS have been thoroughly tested, and it's doubtful you will find a bug...

BTW To comment on your post, NFS requires more attention to authentication and file permissions...

Did you force channel reset after upgrading?

I had deleted the entire XBMC\userdata\addon_data\script.pseudotv.live folder only keeping the setings2.xml for my channel config. Although I just forced a full channel update and now that problem is gone. Go figure.

I am having two other issues now though. For one when I exit out of PTVL I am taken to a black screen rather than back to XBMC. If I click back on the remote I then go back to XBMC, but not sure why I have to do that. Second, After running PTVL, XBMC hangs when I try to exit XBMC. Here is the log:

I do have a question now.
when i try to run the SUPER FAVORITES entry, nothing comes up.
yet i have about 20 working links...

any thoughts?

SO i think it is me alone.

I have super favorites running, Psuedotv doesnt see it, nor does it harvest any of the data.
Another issue is when i try to create a NEW folder in SF, i get a script failure.

welcome, please post full log with passwords removed.

Simple question (hopefully). I have streams set up using 1Channel, however, every time I select a new channel I am prompted to choose a stream eg. putlocker. Is there a way to automatically choose a stream when I select a new channel?

Luna, i am sorry but i really wasnt planning to mislead anyone.
usually when i run into problems and i check forum posts, anything that can point me into the right direction i am willing to try and that is why i usually share my findings.
i am running haneNFS on a windows 7 machine, the channels that get stuck are channels that were scraped using TVDB scrapper and are fully in english.
as soon as i moved everything to SMB the problem went away (previously i had only some on nfs and some on SMB).
what mislead me was the fact that if something is in NFS and is causing the population to freeze, it will affect also tv shows that are on SMB.
one of the tv shows that causes the freeze actually froze the population of a movie that was in SMB. a folder that was scrapped with tvdb and is on SMB was stuck in the middle of population because of another tv show that was scraped in TVDB and was on NFS.

for anyone that is experiencing something this annoying, i imagine will find this post useful. i believe in the whole concept of a community and that is why i try and share as much as possible.

Mine keeps freezing while populating channels, but it is completely random what show it freezes on, and I have tried NFS and SMB. Same result either way.

Log during freezes with channel number would be helpful. Is your smb password protected?
