I love your program add on by the way. This is amazing as I am sure you have heard many times before.

I am running into an issue I cannot seem to find an answer to. Upon running the add on I am only able to browse and use the EPG one time only. Once I have selected a program in the EPG it seems like vanilla XBMC controls take over. I can pause play or stop what I am watching but I cannot change channels with numbers, use ch-up or ch-down, or even get back to the EPG by pushing select once more. I have to stop and restart the program with a new program guide and line up.

Forgive me if this has been answered I am not quite sure which search terms to use to look up a solution.
XBMC just froze and when I restarted the HTPC, my settings2 was wiped out. Can we have it automatically create backups on startup? This really sucks, lol.

Thanks for all the help as usual.
Hello everyone,

I seem to be having an interesting issue with the Advanced Settings area on some of my channels that I was wondering if anyone had run into before previously.

On some of my channels I have configured to basically serve as channel to be interleaved into another. On these channels I have an Advanced Rule set to reset the channel every day using the "Reset Every X Days" to 1 day. Since these are also channels to be interleaved I am using the "Don't Play this Channel" rule. I have this setup on a few different formats of channels including some channels configured as YouTube playlists along with others configured to play direct from a local directory on the PC.

The weird thing seems to the that whenever I use the "Reset Every X Days" rule it seems to make all of the rules configured for the channel stop functioning. Once I turn off the rule it seems to allow the other configured advanced rules to be able to function. Even stranger is that when I open the channel in the Channel Configuration editor, the entry where the rule is configured appears on the screen as blank. But then I click the area where the rule should be and the configured rule is visible.

I've tried troubleshooting this a few different ways by manually configuring the channel directly in the settings2.xml file along with attempting to rebuild the channel through the Channel Configuration editor. I've also deleted and recreated my settings2.xml file several times only to have the same issue occur every time I configure the "Reset Every X Days" rule. This has happened to me now on two different PCs so it makes me wonder if I'm just doing something screwy, can't figure out what that would be though.

By any chance has any one encountered this issue before? I'm worried that I might be just losing my mind lol Big Grin

Settings2.bak? I keep a copy of my settings2.xml once I find one that I like. I keep one for each chan type so I can tweak, mix and match the further I fine tune.

Tested with PTVL development version downloaded tonight (8/24). Did a force channel reset. It is off two hours. I'm in the Pacific timezone.

Thank you for your work on this awesome addon. Nod
Thanks for the sync info, hopefully have this figured out by Friday.
would anyone be so kind as to provide an example of a playlist channel for my settings2.xml? I have a mac so I can't use pseudotv channel manager and I cannot figure out how to get pseudotv working on my firetv. I have several playlists I'd like to add to my pseudotv live setup and I imagine they are one of the 7 channel types not covered in lunatixz guide in the first three posts. If anyone could give me a quick example/explanation of how to set up a playlist channel in my settings2 I would greatly appreciate it!

I don't have a Mac, but I assume that PTVL works on them more or less the same as it works on windows/Linux machines...

If that's the case then go into the PTVL addon and open your channel list. One of the options is custom playlist. Just select the playlist you want to use for the channel and you are good to go.
Hey I haven't used or checked on PTVL for about a month. The last time I used it didn't work and I don't have the time to fiddle with it because it's the summer and I am out and about. Wanted to contribute to the community list but figured whatevs my PTVL is not working so I hope there'd be a stable new version around the corner when I check back in awhile. I guess not. It's still on 0.4.7. Well, help me get my PTVL working again. PTVL does not build any channels and settings2.xml stops at channel 79 eventhough I enabled everything. Log attached:

looks like you have bigger issues than PTVL. you should probably do a clean install of xbmc. http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=276282

you can test this my renaming your user data (wiki) folder and re-launching xbmc. once you have done that install the latest stable and you shouldnt have any issues. don't blame lunatixz when you have issues that are much worse than the stable branch of ptvl.

Yeah, I've been on the raw end of this going back to the original PseudoTV... I'll add some code to detect improper shutdowns and restore bad settings.

+1 Seriously, would be nice not to be blamed... Your log indicates you might have some issues with core xbmc libraries... try starting clean.

The reason those 7 ctypes aren't covered is because they are configurable through the built in channel manager.

I damn near shat a brick at the 18,887 instances of the term "error"

Thanks, glad you enjoy the plugin...

Sounds to me like your xbmc skin is the issue, does the problem happen when using xbmc's default confluence skin?

Minor bug in the new version, It doesn't look like the Valid_ok function in ChannelList.py is setup to handle RSS feeds anymore. I've change the last line in the function to return True if it falls all the way through instead of False and now my rss feeds are populating again. I'm sure you may want to do something a little more sophisticated for the actual release, but thought i'd give you a heads up.

Minor typo, should be fixed in next update... thanks for the heads up Smile

I'm in central and the guide is an hour ahead still on the latest dev build. Is there something else I need to do other than add ustvnow channels and look at the guide?

Is this the only related code?

Code:
#UTC LiveTV plugin
UTC_PLUGIN = ['plugin.video.ustvnow', 'plugin.video.F.T.V']

I can't find anything else besides the commented out gmt offset stuff.

UTC_PLUGIN = global of two programs that I provide xmltv data for, so I know to adapt for offsets...

But right now i'm trying a universal approach to fixing offsets using UTC time and GMT offset info...
