How's PlayOn working out ? Anyone have feedback?
I haven't actually seen one yet, but builds are sold with unofficial addons pre-configured. It wont be too long until they include your idea in their builds (some may be already, I really don't know) as it will be a major selling point.

Really? Hmmmm cause if I set it through the advanced rules in the channel manager it not only doesn't reset the channel every x amount of days but it also seems to negate any of the the other advanced rules I had previously set for that channel. I'll upload a log after work tonight maybe you can take a look at it. In the meantime can you post the actual xml code for that rule? I'll try it manually too and see if it at least works manually on my end.
are you running latest release?
I actually just upgraded from 4.07 to 4.09 and I can say that the "reset x days" rule does in fact seem to be working now which is awesome...one thing that I also noticed though, is that the EPG seems to be dramatically slower now then it had been on 4.07?
Has anyone else noticed this? On my system it is a night and day difference. I'm wondering if maybe the fact that now everything displays artwork (even interleaved internet videos which previously were just blank) is possibly slowing the EPG down or if this is simply a matter of having to build my art cache back up after the update.
anyone have issues with PseudoTV Live finding ustvnow stations? I am running the modified ustvnow that is said needed to run. any ideas?

It was working for me a week ago, but this past weekend ustvnow was not working in ptvl. But it also wasn't working via the website, so i dunno what's up...
Mine is working fine here

Did you supply a ustvnow login?
I love the idea of this plug-in. It is exactly what I was looking for in another thread I posted. I'm working on setting it up currently with mixed success. It seems that some streams have trouble connecting and I get the "waiting" dialog forever (happens with some various streams including ustvnow ones). Eventually if I try to escape it XBMC locks up and I am forced to use a killall command.
My question (or request) is whether there is any option to revert to a default channel if a stream does not connect within a set period of time. I can't seem to see any setting that would do the trick.
With the inherent unreliability of internet streams it would really enhance usability if after 60 seconds or so, if a stream did not connect then the channel would reset to a preferred channel (likely a local files channel which would never have the streaming problem). This would help mitigate any problems caused by "waiting" loops.

USTVnow is usually pretty reliable,
In general you should always use links that work.... PseudoTV Live has some failsafes to avoid using bad links, but the problem still remains if a bad link gets through the XBMC player which handles playing all media doesn't really have a lot of ways to redirect or cancel something playing until the video fails to play.
You can help if you provide me with a link that gets passed my checks, but always fails to play...
Thanks

After art spooler is finished is there still a lag?
I'll tweak the code to allow faster navigation while the spooler is running..

I'm at work right now so I can't really test any links. But earlier I was having trouble with the My9 and PBS feeds from USTVnow. I tried those same channels on the USTVnow website and they were also not loading there. Last night I was also having problems but I think it was with different feeds.
I guess part of my main concern is that live streams tend to go down from time to time, whether it is for maintenance, due to an error, or just as a matter of regular schedule. It would be good if there was some way to exclude those streams from messing up the whole addon. Then again, it may just be problems I'm having on my end and not a widespread issue.

Sad if someone else makes something like this and improve it !! Im a tester i know!!
Its not a big deal... Its a small feature out of many... I'm sure most users don't even use it.
I plan on releasing some tutorial videos to help noobs.
What features are you saying needs improvement?
One good idea would be .. When its in autotune or parsing there is a square window with the button option cancel right?if it gest stuck. The only option is to cancel and start all over again.add the option that if an channel or addon takes more than 50 seconds there would be a 2nd button that would say skip only that channel or addon and continue auto tune the rest , 2 buttons inside the scuare, cancel-skip, and a message confirming the user has decided to disable that channel or addon!! Eliminate that problem!!
And have your own repo! With everything necessary modules plugins etc,
And enable options like normal/ advanced/ expert when you first try the program, that way a newbie wont get confused with so many options

Double dialog isn't possible...
My own repo with modules, this doesn't make sense when the modules I use are already available (almost all of them) through the official xbmc repo.
Not sure I want triple options for different level users, but thanks for the suggestions.
I think the best advice for noobs would be if something doesn't work, either post a log or stop using the problematic feature (ie autotune). Auto tuning isn't forced... You can always either uninstall the offending plugin or chose a different auto tune option.
if you want things to work 100% create your own custom settings, and stop using autotune
Also if you find a community list item is causing problems, signup for the community list and edit the problematic setting... don't wait for me to get around to it... you mentioned the cnet plugin, but you never signed up to the community list to fix it...
