Hi All

I have setup the following system:

FreeNAS 9.2.0 running Mythbackend in a jail

HD Homerun Duel digital tuner

Client: RASPBMC 9.9.20 (I think) running Mythbox LATEST (Version_tag)

Client: HP Laptop running XBMC 12.3 and Mythbox (Version_tag)

Both clients can access the mysql database

Both clients upload EIT info from the HD Homerun OK

Both clients can populate TV recordings and will show completed in recorded TV

Just one problem, nothing actually happens, no recording data and both tuners always show idle or show an upcoming event, I also get nothing when trying to watch live TV, just both tuners showing idle, Also if I run a HD Homerun client from another computer and start watching TV both the clients still show the tuners as idle.

So first question is, do I have to have any HD Homerun software actually installed on the mythbackend jail?

and if not

Has anyone else had this issues and can offer some suggestions?

Thanks in advance
First step is to ensure mythfrontend works. If it doesn't, xbmc never will.

I have never run backend on freebsd, but there is very little OS support needed for a hdhomerun device - that is one of its bonuses. You probably do need hdhomerun_config installed. On linux, you don't have to worry about the driver working in the next kernel version. But anyway that is a question for the mythtv-user mailing list, not xbmc devs.

Beyond that. I think we'll need some logs.
When you say mythbox do you mean the very old add on that is in the mythtv repo? That only works with mythtv .25 and is really obsolete. Use the livetv function with the cmyth PVR.
