I seem to recall the ios keyboard popping up when xbmc is asking to input text in a captcha window. But it doesnt do it anymore. Is there something im missing. A setting to enable this feature?

the app listen to the XBMC notification. Check if under system > settings > services > remote control > allow programs on other systems to control XBMC is turned on.
Here everything is working as should.
Also it's useful that you mention also about what XBMC version you are running and on which platform.

I am having this issue. Im on Openelec xbmc 13.1. I have "Allow programs on other systems to control xbmc" turned On. The keyboard used to popup for captcha's on openelec 3.x but not since ive been on 4.x
