You can try out my addon for Sprout. Sprout is a preschool channel parents and kids share together.

This addon has been released in the xbmc.org repo: http://mirrors.xbmc.org/addons/frodo/plu...eo.sprout/

Please let me know if it works for you. Thanks

EDIT: You can automatically play a series of videos (keeping the kids watching longer) in a directory by using the "Play From Here" feature on the context menu. Info on the XBMC context menu is here: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Vid...xtual_menu . You can also create a playlist, but this is more work.
Tried this out last night (sorry took so long, haven't been on here in a while)... works great!

However, they do have full episodes on their site (http://www.sproutonline.com/now/) if you're signed in via your cable provider... Would you be able to update the addon so users can enter their credentials on the setup menu?
Perhaps in the future when binary addons and f4m are supported natively in Kodi. The same mechanism protects live video feeds. If someone were to release a python addon with tv-everywhere in it, it would be just a matter of time before folks on other websites were modifying it and you would find yourself sharing your cable id with folks everywhere.

The offering on Sprout without login is disappointing, it used to be better.
Not sure I follow, if an addon provides an input for cable id, how is this less secure than entering it on the cable providers webpage.
Simply put: It's my personal opinion and reason for not doing it. Others may feel differently about it and I'm fine with that. I have caught 2 addons which were modified to upload the settings.xml from userdata to an external site. Can't image it was for any purpose other than skimming credentials.
Fairly large update to this addon. Full episodes have been added. This addon will probably require a VPN outside of the US. It also needs a 4-5 Mbps link as most of the video is 1080.

Available in the kodi.org repo

I just tested on Windows, Android and Ubuntu and it works fine for me. Make sure that you have the latest version - 1.0.7 from the Kodi.org repo. If you still have issues please post a debug log to either xbmclogs.com or pastebin.com and post the link here. I'll take a look and see if I can help.

If you are outside the US, this addon may require a VPN or proxy to work. V1.0.7 has a big change to how videos are accessed.

sorry for the late response. you are correct. i tested it on a windows box and it is working. however on my Amazon FireTV it just hangs on loading and then nothing. i have the latest version downloaded directly from kodi repo. all setting are identical on both setups. let me figure out how to extract the log file from the FTV box and post here later in the day

thanks

What version of Kodi are you running on the FireTV? I have tested on my FireTV Stick with 15.0 alpha 1 and it runs fine. Use the built-in file manager to transfer the log (located in /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.xbmc.kodi/files/.kodi/temp on the Fire Stick) from the FireTV to a network store or a PC.

I can tell you that you are probably running an Android build that doesn't have https support for ffmpeg. The Sprout addon requires https support in ffmpeg. You need to find a build with gnutls compiled with ffmpeg. Have a look here for where to find them: 209569 (thread)

FireTV is running latest stable build available on the download page Android 14.2: ARM

Some of the 14.2 Android builds I've seen do not have gnutls compiled in ffmpeg, so you won't have https support from the player.
Where is https needed for Sprout? The progressive sources seem to be equal in quality to the others, unless I'm missing something?

I know that my replies to your threads almost always contain this sort of suggestion, and because of that they are probably a little tedious. Sorry about that.

well that sucks. firetv is in the family room and kids use it. at the moment there is several add-ons running flawless on it so for the sake of not breaking anything else, dont think ill be testing an alpha release anytime soon. hopefully a stable build is around the the corner.

thanks for all your help

I'm pretty sure there are 14.2 builds with ffmpeg compiled with https support.
EDIT Actually I don't see a 14.2 build, it looks like the builds with https support start with 15.0 alpha 1 upwards.
