I been looking around everywhere on the net, there is no review or information about how XBMC work on the RK3288 devices.

I have therefore just ordered a box. I will provide me review her on how i find the performance.

(just for usercomers, i have tested Apple TV2, Android dual core Am logic, android dual core rockship, minix x7, fire tv, mx2 box) these are my 100USD boxes, and of all these, the FireTV is the best and most user friendly box and performance wise you might want to disable mediacodec for best experience, and use wired connection.

Apple TV2 is lacking alot and is really no good for all the power the new xbmc and plugins require.really dead slow.
The dual core android is really bad! the mx2, u have to work to finetune and test and update blblalbab.
Minix x7 is the best android device but does not out perform Fire TV (minix x8 is out, my friend got one and says there is improved performance).

The fire tv was soo good that i replaced my Asrock IOn 330 with my fire tv.

I have big expectation for this 3288 h265 hardware decode and fully supported DTS-HD sound.
If anyone have this box already, please provide your feedback on the performance and stability.

Thank you
See here: HD movies are fine, but im getting low framerate when playing SD media. Unfortunately i got no help till now, hope someone we will answer.

Anyway i have ordered the box its on its way by next week. will do some throughly testing on it.

Can i ask you, is your measy with "Rubber" or "plastic" buttons on the remote ?
how is the IR range ? many android boxes have problem with IR

Hi

I just received my new measy b4s with 3288 rokchip, the video quality playing 1080p it's fantastic, but a little bit laggy when I select passtrough.
So I can only watch movie in PCM.

Do you have any option like deselect mediacodec ?
Do these boxes support 3d Blu ray too... if not which one can?

Xbmc does not support 3d mvc on any platform.
thanks Nickr,
apart from XBMC, how do i know if a hardware is capable of playing 3D BD ISOs or not?

what shall i look in a hardware which ensures that it is capable of doing it?
I got a 3D TV, and want something which can:

a) play BD ISOs
b) Play 3D BD ISO.
c) can decode Dolby, Dolby TrueHD, etc etc ( know xbmc can do it using software decoding
d) can support upto 2 TB of USB disk.

I searched the Hardware for Kodi, but unfortunately could not stumble to something very relevant., if you can point me to any existing thread, that would also be great.

Regards,
Well you'll be running windows because there is no linux software can play 3D Bluray disks.

Any computer with a USB port can support USB disks.

XBMC cannot decode TrueHD or DTS-HD as far as I know, but can pass them through to your amplifier.

Kodi can decode them but no Android box I know that is capable to pass 8 channels in 192khz to a receiver, be it PCM or passthrough.

Are you sure?
what about MX player on android.

On measy website http://www.measy.com.cn/product/showproduct93_en.htm .
they claim that it can directly play 3d blu ray.
Is it a false claim?

The build-in video player has wide codec support and I saw in RK3288 kernel source 3d Blu Ray stuff.
It would probably work with that build-in player.

Running on android is not quite the same as running on linux. I know about the shared kernel, but that's about where the similarities end.

Does it mean that on any RK3288 based box, with that application (i hope it is android app), box is capable of playing 3D blu ray?
What is needed to be looked to be sure that hardware decoding of 3D blu ray is supported?
