I recently upgraded my HTPC to Gotham 13.2 running on Linux 14.04. I am now experiencing video stutter while playing MKV movies stored on the unit. This is a problem that I have not seen for over a year.

I have updated my video drivers, and tried all combinations of settings in audio. Could not find any previous posts, so this must be a unique issue.

Here is my log

Sound is fine, and does not stutter.

I would appreciate any help you have to offer.
not a debug log (wiki)
debug log is http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=282197

debug xbmc.old.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=282198

This is per the XBMC log program.

Thanks
In neither case do you have debugging turned on, look at line 62 in each log.
My apologies. First time posting a log.

Here is the log with debug turned on.

The movie stuttered twice during the short test period.

Thanks
mmm xbmchub maintenace wizards I see.... self inflicted destruction unsupported. Go moan at xbmchub forums. Alternatively re-install XBMC/Kodi without any of that nonsense.
OK I did the reinstall, using 13.2 on 14.04 Linux as before.

No apps except Log Uploader are enabled or installed.

Here is my new log including a stutter in the movie:

Thanks for the help.
You play some 29.97 fps material on 60Hz and sync playback to display. What do you expect? Why don't you enable "adjust refresh rate to match video"?
Adjust refreshrate triggers the sdl bug in 13.2 On res change sdl sends quit and there wie freeze. So helix is needed to make it work reliable... or building your Gotham Branch.
Thanks for replying.

I changed the setting you suggested, but the movies still stutter.

Any other thoughts?
Post /usr/lib/xbmc/xbmc-xrandr please. Also a minimal but complete log with that sample would be fine.
Sorry, fritsch, did not see your reply until after I posted.

I do not understand what you mean by "So helix is needed to make it work reliable... or building your Gotham Branch."

How do I go about this?
Post the xrandr thingy first. You can trust fernet, he writes that code.
As fritsch suggested please try Helix version. What window manager do you use, if any?
here is the log: The stutter should be close to the end.

I have the file saved on my desktop - but cannot see a way to place it in the post. Sorry - new to posting.

I do not have any window manager that I know of.

I will try the Helix version, but where do I find it?

Thanks for the speedy replies.

Boy do I feel dumb. Helix is the code name for version 14.0. I will update to it.
