Full Version: S/PDIF and Dolby Digital Transcoding -> No Sound

Hi guys, i hope you can help me out with this issue.

Im running XBMC Gotham on a windows 7 computer, which i use as my media center.
This is directly connected over an Optical cable to my Logitech Z906 Sound system.

Using some Legend of Korra Episodes in VLC, gives me the option to set as Audio device "A/52 over S/PDIF", which makes my Logitech recognize the transcoding and play back 5.1 Sound.

When trying to get Dolby Digital working in XMBC, i get no sound at all.
If the option "Dolby Digital Transcoding" is enabled, it plays back no sound.
With it disabled, there is no transcoding, which makes my Logitech go for some emulated 3D Sound option, which is by far worse than true Dolby Digital or DTS.

I saw some posts that adviced to change the number of channels to two, but when my Digital Output device is selected, this option is not available.

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks in advance,
Sareturu
Nevermind, fixed the issue by reinstalling the audio drivers. XBMC now plays back in Dolby Digital Smile
