As above, spend some time familiarising yourself with what Kodi actually is.
Then you will understand the "addons" and extensions to the core software are modules that allow you to do other things with the core application.
I'm a relative newcomer here, but have found that you will generally get a better response if you ask specific and direct questions with plenty of detail, not just about the task you wish to achieve but the hardware and setup you have.
The search function of the forum is hugely helpful too.
