Hi,
Last night I did a version upgrade of my exiting Lubuntu from 14.04 to 14.10. Everything went fine and I wanted to refresh my xbmc install which is when
I noticed that it gave me "XBMC for Debian" no matter what how many time I followed the official procedure.
It kept giving me XBMC 13.1 RC1 and not 13.2 which is what I had before the upgrade.
I followed these forum threads but they did not work for me!

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=197348

Upon executing the command i get this-
Quote:mediauser@Media:~$ sudo apt-cache policy xbmc
xbmc:
Installed: (none)
Candidate: 2:13.1~rc1+dfsg1-1ubuntu3
Version table:
2:13.1~rc1+dfsg1-1ubuntu3 0
500 http://mirror.cc.columbia.edu/pub/linux/ubuntu/archive/ utopic/universe amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
What is it that I am missing or doing or how can I force the above cache policy to update to give me the latest version.
Codes...with steps, suggestions or directions are welcomed.
Thanks for the time and patience.

there is no xbmc stable version for ubuntu 14.10 atm, only nightlies.
Thanks. Thats comforting. The workaround was using using some other ppa.

Will go back to xbmc ppa when it gets stable.
Thank you.
