Hi again!

When I select this movie poster using browse, the movie poster gets really grainy even thou it's high res, how come?

not sure...but where you finding high-res posters?

Could it be that said picture has a jpeg thumbnail image of crappy quality embedded in it?

XBMC reads jpeg thumbnails before decoding the entire image.
