XBMCLive is based on karmic at the moment. XBMC Live is always based on the newest version of Ubuntu AFAIK.

lloydsmart Wrote:So it should be ok to install from svn repo again now?

yes, unless you have an amd64, The builds are failing due to an issue in the scripts. So if you try to install you might get an older version.
wattazoum Wrote:Well, there is a difference between the last version you have installed and the version your were having issues with. The difference is that revision 25189 were using external libs while the new one uses internal libs.

After 9.11 final release, I'll try external libs again and your reports will be more than welcome.

Ah, dam I did not pick up that a new version had been released inbetween my rebuild. I would be happy to test versions using the external libs if it would help you Big Grin
Aah, right. I am on amd64 so I'll stick with the beta for now. Any chance of a notice in this thread when it's compiling again on amd64? I know you're busy though, so don't worry too much.

A new build is available on SVN repository. Can you test it ?
Sure, I'll try it now.

[EDIT]

Well, it works for me on amd64. Thanks! Only problem is that now the "Recently Added" script doesn't work, when selecting "Videos" in confluence. I get a popup saying "Error Script Failed! : RecentlyAdded.py"
Can you provide your logs (from the ~/.xbmc/tmp folder) ?
Use Paste bin for that: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/
I need help,i can not play media files (divx,mkv..etc),i have no problem with dvd and music playing. However, when i select one of these formats, nothing happens, xbmc can not play it.I send my log.

I installed svn25284 from PPA (karmic, amd64) which should be the latest build, but I get an error when starting XBMC resulting in a black screen ith only X's mousepointer (XBMC started as standalone app w/o WM):

Looks like there are wrong binaries shipped with this release. Anybody else experienced this error? Do you need the whole logfile?

Allright, I did a complete uninstall of XBMC and newly installed the latest svn from PPA, which is 25284. It again refused to start but this time with a different error:
Code:
23:02:49 T:140252981307664 M:1507168256   DEBUG: SECTION:LoadDLL(libcurl.so.4)
23:02:49 T:140252981307664 M:1507168256   DEBUG: Loading: libcurl.so.4

23:02:49 T:140252981307664 M:1507168256   DEBUG: Dll libcurl.so.4 was not found in path

I manually installed package libcurl3 (which offers libcurl.so.4!! Confused) and afterwards it worked. Seems like there is a dependency missing

EDIT:
This means of course, that the shipped binaries (especially regarding time.so) seem to be OK. At least there wasn't an error. Probably this was left from a previous version of XBMC.
With actual SVN I cannot use key 'play' on my remote to switch to settings anymore. In previous versions I could press 'play' for example in DB-mode on an icon and switched to the video settings page. There I could easily clean up or export the database. now when pressing 'play' it opens the selected item but without sound. Using 'OK' it opens with sound. Is this a change in XBMC or is my lirc somehow broken?

Is this a joke?
You can download Linux here: http://www.ubuntu.com/

There is definitely a dependency missing. I will need to add it manually in the runtime dependencies. That is because we don't link to libcurl3. We load it at runtime.

There is definitely a problem with Python. The python zip is shipped as being arch indep (so built once for every system) while it's containing shared objects (.so) . See the bellow logs for confirmation.
