One strange thing is that I can only backout to home screen by pressing multiple back button.
I would add a system button to the menu and use it for settings / exit / start up in / theme /.....
This way there's no need for the home screen any more.

Well, the menu items are abit temporary, They might not stay. And removing the home view would be counterproductive to me. It's very unintuitive to not have a homeview IMHO. However autostart to another activity might be a good idea though.

If you mean multiple back if you do menu -> music and menu -> pictures and then menu -> now playing. Then yeah it would be multiple backs? it's just how android apps should work.

Cheers,
Tobias.
Yeah the queue and play button in the album wall view are placeholders. And I'm also for a complete redesign / menu adjustment of the GUI.
Been working well on my girlfriends Magic look forward to testing on my Hero when it arrives tommorow Smile

Kudos Lads...

Shocked Menu items might not stay Huh Imho best button there is.
It's always nice to have different ways to navigate through GUI, menu is the fast way.
And gives/add more specifick options, example change view in music.

Ok, you're right about home menu it's very intuitive to have one.
I would suggest to add a home button to the menu items insteed of system.(system could be an item on homescreen.)
This way (multiple back) issue solved.Big Grin
I have an other idea for the remote. It would be nice, if it is possible to wake up the xbmc with the remote. It would need an entry in the settings for the MAC address and a button on the homescreen, if the xbmc is offline. The logic is not a problem. I could deliver it, but I am not a GUI specialist.

What do you think ?

The logic of handling when to send the WOL is trivial. If you make code on how to send the wol we can for sure add the feature
Here is the method to wake up a machine: http://pastebin.com/m3a66542f
I pasted it together from an other project. So if it does not work, I make a copy & paste fault.

Nice, were did you get the code?

What is the licensing on the code? is it needs to be GPL compat?.

Cheers,
Tobias
Would it be possible to have "play this item" on the list view? I have a lot of Mix Albums/ DJ Sets that just cant be queued with the Library View.

Cheers Smile

From my own project. There is no licensing problem. Wink I think the original code is from a tutorial how to send a magic package.

Edit:
Here is the howto: http://www.jibble.org/wake-on-lan/
Here's a new version of the remote control, in latest SVN.
