this is a problem in code, probably caused by this:
12:58:35 T:2845834096 M:986288128 ERROR: Get - failed to get stream

nope, you're doing nothing wrong, but keep in mind that you're using a testing version of xbmc, so issues like that are not unexpected.
thanks for reporting back.
Ok, I know that pvr is unsupported by xbmc. I will patiently wait :-)
there's an updated package available on the ppa.
could you check if the problem is still present after upgrading?
Yes it is still present. The log I posted is from this version: 2:11.0-pvr+odk14~git20110324.28a2544~ppa+odk14~maverick
ok thanks for reporting back
Hi,
I'm not sure if I got the same error but I got the same problem. XBMC randomly crashes when I change channel or get information from other channels while watching a channel.
XBMC errorlog:
http://pastebin.com/f7a44k8Q
( I use Ubuntu 10.10, and XBMC 10.0 pvr~odk48)
I haven't updated my xbmc for a while, perhaps this issue has already been fixed. Otherwise I'm curious to know if I can do anything to help solve the problem.
It rarely crashes if I am gentle (wait a while between each channel changes), but if I stress it a bit it usually crashes.
Please let me know the status on this issue.
Thanks for a great product!
Best regards /Niclas
new packages are being built now with a fix for this issue.
I tested a bit and the problem seems to have disappeared. Thanks a lot!
it's not related, but it is a bug in the pvr code. please create a ticket on trac or github and attach xbmc's crashlog

I'm pretty new to Ubuntu (and xbmc pvr scene), how do I upgrade to latest packages?
click "update" when ubuntu shows you the nice popup window
Been there but I didn't want to update everything on the computer. And I wasn't able to "check" the checkboxes on the xbmc pvr part for some reason.
But I'll have a go again.
Thanks for the help!
Hi,
I just changed channels with xbmc and it crashed with latest xbmc +tvheadend -combi (odk38). Couldn't reproduce it.
