I have also noticed the fade on all my systems (3 Openelec and a laptop). It has never bothered me though, i guess i thought it was part of the design.

I thought the fade was part of the skin, it's been present since version 2'ish. It's not there for the grey texture pack.

From what I can see the white.png in windows/common generates that on some platforms..I really don't like it at all and can see why some people were bugged by it.

Ditto to what r.og says, if you fork the skin and submit a pull request I'll merge it so everyone benefits and you do not need to keep adding it after each update

What's the size of the texture? I've seen that happen when it's not a multiple of 4. Not sure if that helps.

Hmm good question, it's part of the textures pack provided in your version so I'm not certain. I did try an alternative and it seems to have solved the problem, but I've got a few more places to double check first.

Version 3.0.102 is out and hopefully solves the fading issue reported by many people.

Great, I changed about 30 xml files covering many areas so as much testing/feedback as possible is appreciated as I may have unintentionally introduced bugs elsewhere.

It was mostly down to the windows/common/white.png...I replaced it with an alternate one and things were fine. In addition there was some un needed animation going on in some of the focused areas which I got rid off...hopefully that's the end of it

That makes sense, I don't have the textures to hand but I don't remember that one being in there. I'm guessing the animations put the fade in?

If you look at the same view in Movies
I have a smart playlist for shows added in the last week it has the same view as tvshows but shows the episode info
