RE: My Subscriptions returning empty list - kebailey - 2021-09-10

(2021-08-11, 05:19)arsMOBILIS Wrote: For some time now I've been having problems consistently getting the My Subscriptions list. It will work fine for a while each day, then return an empty list for the rest of the day, often hours at a time. I'm currently running the Unofficial YouTube addon 6.8.15_matrix.1 on Kodi 19.1, but I was experiencing the same problem a few weeks ago when I was still running Kodi 18.9. This is happening to me every day, I never get through a whole day able to retrieve My Subscriptions and there is no pattern to when it happens that I can discern. I don't do anything different when the list starts working again, it just fixes itself for some reason. This is getting really frustrating, is anybody else encountering this?
Same exact problem for past several months.  When Subscriptions returns empty, YouTube playlists or videos saved in Favorites will sometimes play, other times not.  System:  Rpi3, OSMC Kodi 17.6, Kodi Add-on repository YouTube 6.8.15 and now 6.8.17

RE: YouTube - blueribb - 2021-09-10

I use the YouTube addon every single day and only had the empty "My Subscriptions" list once, about a week or two ago. The following morning all was back to normal. I do have the freezing issue on some videos. I just press STOP and restart the video and it works.

I also use the addon extensively every day and I can confirm the same.

I'm completely new at this but I think I'm having a related problem. I installed a fresh install of RetroPie, updated and installed Kodi from the repositories. Kodi shows up under the "Ports" menu in Retropie. Kodi loads fine, I'm not really sure how it all works, but I installed the Youtube addon. I soon found out I had to sign up for Google project development to get an API key and credentials needed to get the addon working. I did all that, made myself a test user and after a bit of trial and error I am able to search for and watch Youtube videos on my Raspberry Pi. For a bit that is. I can watch about 4 or 5 videos, but after that, every time I try to do a search, or even watch a video I previously watched, Kodi is giving me an alert there was a problem and to check the log. I'm not sure exactly what log file I'm looking for, I'm assuming it's the addon log? The system doesn't appear to be overheating or anything, not that I'm aware of, even if I wait a while, the videos no longer work I just get the same alert. If I reboot, the videos seem to work again, but then the same behavior starts to happen after about 4 or 5 videos are watched. Please advise me on what I need to do to get some help on this. Or, tell me if I'm doing it wrong from the start, should I not even be trying to run Kodi on Retropie? Should I be running a stand alone Kodi install? I'm not new to computers but I'm no Linux guru and while I've had a little experience with Retropie, I've had basically zero with Kodi.

RE: YouTube - trinaldi - 2021-09-15

I had an authentication error earlier, a simple "Sign Out" -> "Sign In" solved it.

RE: YouTube - David7578 - 2021-09-19

Regarding watched history:- How does the official youtube app or website get the history ?Do they have specific keys/apis we can't acess ? Just out of curiosity, since I'm sure people coding for the extension looked into it and could not find a solution other than a custom playlist used as a history for the plugin.

@iome

To receive meaningful assistance you will need to provide a full debug log.

The instructions are here... debug log (wiki)

If you are using the Basic Method, then ensure the following is applied...
1.Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging,
2.Restart Kodi
3.Replicate the problem.
4.Upload the log to Kodi Paste Site manually or use the Kodi Logfile Uploader. (wiki) With either method post the link to the log back here.

If you are using the Advanced Method ensure you have correctly created and applied the advancedsettings.xml file (wiki)

In both instances, you should see the word DEBUG throughout the log.

Note: Full logs only. No partial or redacted logs
Do NOT post your logs directly into the forum. Use the Kodi Paste Site. Post the link to your pasted log in the forum

RE: YouTube - BriceysCousin - 2021-09-21

is it still possible to view Saved Playlists (not Created Playlists) in the addon?

as a workaround i can add the saved playlist ID as a custom watch later/history playlist, but you can only have 2 of these at most

thanks

I'm a new to Kodi, having downloaded version 19.1 for Windows 10 - 64 bit.  I've successfully load video addons such as TVNZ OnDemand and others, and they stream perfectly. Configuring Youtube version 6.8.17 downloaded from the Kobi repository is problematic.  I have followed instructions provided in the error message: <The Youtube addon now requires you to use your own API keys. See Wiki: https://ytaddon.page.link/keys> and have successfully created the 3 required keys. The problem is the Youtube>Settings>API tab, which is shown in the Wiki link <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iFaY8IpTeI>, does not exist below the HTTP Server tab.  Therefore I cannot enter the required YouTube API keys.  Is there a new method I should be using to enter API keys?

Are you sure your in the right place?  Exists for me: https://ibb.co/hL1WJxZ

It's not initially visible on the settings dialog, but if scroll down on the left by using the arrow keys you will see API under HTTP Server.

Thanks! I was in the right place but simply hovering the cursor and highlighting the visible LH menu item from Folders to HTTP Server. I expected it to scroll with the cursor.  Using the arrow keys scrolled the menu as required. Cheers.

RE: YouTube - Petes - 2021-09-23

I don't have those issues, all menus work as expected but I've been having a lot of buffering and freezing issues.

There's also an issue I've always had where if you press Next in a playlist Kodi crashes but only if the video is ending and it's ready to go to the next one automatically, my guess is that both Next commands get mixed together and make Kodi crash, but it's just a guess.

I use the Pi3 libreelec 9.2.8, Leia 18.9
