original post. next thing is xbmc.log playing one of the 'bad' ones. Let it play for 5-10 mins. RE: AMLogic hardware video decoding in nightly builds - epicdsl - 2014-03-15 as requested kind sir http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=149288 im no expert but i do work in the i,t industry is it because my device doesn't have root ? maybe i need to root it because i can see in the logs 08:37:53 T:1095560688 WARNING: aml_permissions: missing su, playback might fail RE: AMLogic hardware video decoding in nightly builds - davilla - 2014-03-15 yep, if aml device do not have certain device permissions set right, then a/v sync and other items will get strange. RE: AMLogic hardware video decoding in nightly builds - epicdsl - 2014-03-15 so i rooted my device and gave xbmc su access but still same issue xbmc is stuck in 720p mode... any other suggestions ? edit: i have installed busybox and a ssh server to my box my guess is id have to putty ssh in and change the cmod permissions some how ? any idea where id even start to look ? worked out how to set permissions via ssh so set all these within the qoute marks but no luck will upload another log now system("su -c chmod 666 /sys/class/video/axis"); system("su -c chmod 666 /sys/class/video/screen_mode"); system("su -c chmod 666 /sys/class/video/disable_video"); system("su -c chmod 666 /sys/class/tsync/pts_pcrscr"); system("su -c chmod 666 /sys/class/audiodsp/digital_raw"); system("su -c chmod 666 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_min_freq"); system("su -c chmod 666 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_max_freq"); system("su -c chmod 666 /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor RE: AMLogic hardware video decoding in nightly builds - Ned Scott - 2014-03-15 Same error in the debug log still? RE: AMLogic hardware video decoding in nightly builds - epicdsl - 2014-03-15 new logs http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=149382 does not have "WARNING: aml_permissions: missing su, playback might fail" in it so thats gone but still same issue :S scratching my head with this one RE: AMLogic hardware video decoding in nightly builds - epicdsl - 2014-03-16 I went though and checked all the permissions are 666 I have su in xbin su is granting the permissions every time I start xbmc .. Still it struggles to play ac3/AAC and only some of them... I can't piece it as to why .. Should I submit a bug report ? Android is set to 1920x1080 but xbmc only runs in 720p... Some thing must be wrong with xbmc RE: AMLogic hardware video decoding in nightly builds - Ned Scott - 2014-03-16 If you could submit a bug report for this, we'd greatly appreciate it. Even if it's just for tracking purposes, as I know right now is a busy time and it's easy for various issues to get lost in the shuffle. Some thing must be wrong with xbmc Nothing is wrong with XBMC, it runs the GUI in 720p. Always has and always will until GLES improves enough to get decent fps from the GUI. Video is rendered my hw to a different video plane that has nothing to do with GLES. AC3/DTS work fine for me on on AML devices. There must be something wrong with your firmware. I suggesting contacting you device vendor.
