RE: NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box) - Hiphopopotamus - 2015-10-01 Expanded codec and container support: -Adds pass-through support for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio lossless audio* -Adds MPEG2, VC-1, and WMV9 hardware-acceleration* -Adds M2TS, ASF, and WMV container support for VC-1 -Adds WMA audio support (including WMA Pro, and WMA Lossless) *These features are supported by the native Photo & Videos app. Other media players are expected to add support soon. 23.976 Hz playback support Allows advanced media enthusiasts to force the display refresh rate to 23.976 Hz for 23.976 Hz content like most Google Play movies, Netflix movies, and Blu-ray movie files. Enable this feature in Settings > Device > HDMI > Resolution. Note: This setting should not be used for playing games or for watching videos that display at higher refresh rates. RE: NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box) - cAizer - 2015-10-01 How is it with Live-TV and deinterlacing and video scaling? Its the only thing thats keeping me from getting one. Using an old Intel Atom with Nvidia ION and Ubuntu now and its works so great but the computer is so slow. The backend is Tvheadend but that shouldnt matter. Is anyone using a Harmony hub together with the box and is it working well? Most other keys are available in some fashion. Best results are a bluetooth/IR combo with two devices for the Shield. IR is needed for sleep/wake and the home & OK key. Everything else is slightly faster via bluetooth commands. Tinwarble's post @ https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/842945/shield-android-tv/tips-for-setting-up-your-logitech-harmony-for-use-with-shield-android-tv/post/4629097/#4629097 is the best guide for what you can do. RE: NVIDIA Shield (Android TV set-top box) - knives of ice - 2015-10-01 I know that audio passthrough still doesn't work but can anyone compare the Kodi experience on the Shield to running OpenElecon a chromebox? is it noticeably faster loading menus, etc? I'm on the fence about getting one right now |
