I had a little time so here what you need to get this setup.

Files
default.py - replacement for current ustvnow default.py
Icons - Icons for TVGuide
ABC.strm etc - Strm files to point TVGuide to the correct stream.
zap2xml.exe - program to grab the listings
USTV EPG Grab.bat - Batch file to automatically run the zap2xml.exe
USTVNOW Files - https://dl.dropbox.com/u/12292059/USTVNOW.zip - 2.5MB

Step 1 - Copy default.py into
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\plugin.video.ustvnow
replacing the current file.

Step 2 - Register with zap2it.com - http://tvlistings.zap2it.com/tvlistings/ZCUserAccountLoad.do?aid=zap2it

Change your location to 17101 - Dish Harrisburg - Satellite Local

Then Set Preferences - and select channels
8 - WGAL (NBC)
15 - WLYH (The CW)
21 - WHP (CBS)
27 - WHTM (ABC)
33 - WITF (PBS)
43 - WPMT (FOX)
238 - WWOR (My9)

Tick boxes Six Hour Grid & Show only favourites and save.

Step 3 Open the USTV EPG Grab.bat in notepad and change the username and password to your own and save.

With both the USTV EPG Grab.bat and zap2xml.exe in the same folder. Run the bat file.

As the name suggests this will grab the EPG for the channels.

Step 4 In XBMC and tvguide in the settings point the XMLTv option the US TV data.xml file you have just create and the icons option to the icons folder.

Open tvguide and this will populate the epg click on a channel it will ask you for a strm file navigate to the named strm files you have extracted from the zip file. Do this for all the channels and you should be done.

Thanks for that. It works perfectly however is it normal for it to not pull programme descriptions for the shows?.

Yeah the information isn't always the best you can pay for better information but I make do with the free.

Thanks for posting this. I rewrote USTV EPG Grab.bat as a shell script using the perl version of zap2xml, so I can run this on linux.

If anyone is interested you can use this method to get live channels in pseudotv. You need the default.py and the same strm files but with different names. To get them into PTV the strms have to be episodes of a tv show, so i scanned them in with nfos, you can get a copy of that here ( https://www.dropbox.com/s/rk37wbi2zm8o672/USTVNOW.zip ). Then to add them into PTV make a playlist for each station and set the channel rule to be that playlist. The nfo makes every "episode" 24 hours long so PTV wont try to replay it.

What operating system are you using and are you trying to add an epg or trying to use it with pseudotv?

RE: [RELEASE] ustvnow - YoungHog - 2013-05-09

Hello, I have read through this tread and I cant find a solution. Maybe I missed it. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

I installed ustvnow but every time I click it XBMC gives me an error message: Script failed! :plugin.video.ustvnow

I have an account and watch TV on the ustvnow website. Can someone tell me how to fix this error?
If someone could help me, I will really appreciate it!

RE: [RELEASE] ustvnow - GomezAddams - 2013-05-12

Does anyone know how to change what stream file is associated with each channel? I apparently selected the wrong file for one channel, and I can't for the life of me figure out how to change it.

There's no menu options that I can find. I've tried resetting to defaults, I've tried selecting a different source - nothing seems to change the channel to stream file association.

Found my own answer. You have to attach a keyboard and hit a "c" while the channel is highlighted, which brings up the context menu. Right mouse click just closes the app.

Urgent: I too have the above error in both XBMC Ubuntu 12 and in Frodo 12.2 in Windows. Version 12.1 in Windows has no such error.

Is there anyone in here that can help us? I do not see a response to YoungHog's post after 19 days.

Thanks for your time.

Try to uninstall the plugin then make a new password on the website and then reinstall the plugin and enter the info again

Your suggestion didn't work. The failure is immediate, as if the script is corrupted or something. My YouTube plugin is working, so it is not an network/internet issue.

OK, just found this in the xbmc log:

23:17:00 T:2873826112 ERROR: EXCEPTION Thrown (PythonToCppException) : -->Python callback/script returned the following error<--
- NOTE: IGNORING THIS CAN LEAD TO MEMORY LEAKS!
Error Type: <type 'exceptions.AttributeError'>
Error Contents: 'module' object has no attribute 'output'
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/home/ddt/.xbmc/addons/plugin.video.ustvnow/default.py", line 32, in <module>
Addon.log('plugin url: ' + Addon.plugin_url)
File "/home/ddt/.xbmc/addons/plugin.video.ustvnow/resources/lib/Addon.py", line 39, in log
xbmc.output(addon.getAddonInfo('name') + ': ' + msg.encode('utf-8'),
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'output'
-->End of Python script error report<--

I'm investigating even though I don't know the python programming language very well. Stay tuned.

OK, to fix the script error in version 12.0:

Quote:Open the Addon.py file

Located at ~/xbmc/addons/plugin.video.ustvnow/resources/lib/Addon.py

on line 39, you will see xbmc.output, change it to xbmc.log

This is from a post on http://www.xbmchub.com/ by Crawl in thread: ustvnow script fail on Xbian 1.0 Alpha

Now I'm going to investigate the error that occurs in Frodo 12.2.

Update:
Well this is embarrassing, I can't duplicate the error I encountered when 12.2 first came out.
So nevermind Smile
