The design is still a work in progress, if you have any notes please share Smile.
Hope you enjoy Rex !

The original file is vector based.

I've not getting any feedback on my design, is it too bad? Shocked

I like the design however looks too much like a south park character.. but overall very nice.

Don't be put off by the fact you have had little to no feeback.
I do like like this the problem is there is more than a few others as good, its far better than most of the dross being spewed out.
My advice would be to leave yours as it is, i just don't think they like cute animals on here. It's in my top 3 likes. Wink

Yeah, it's really terrible.

Terribly cute and well done! Smile Like it, but won't ever touch that remote again Wink. It's actually one of my favourites. Looks somehow familiar though.

From a graphical POV I think I'd simplify his feet and get rid of the separate toes - too much details in there compared to the other areas (at least for my taste).

couldn't hold it back - da-anda - 2011-05-13

Actually I didn't plan to compete, but all those great contributions gave me quite some inspiration so that I had to stop working and start draging some vectors. My idea was to pic up the shape of the current logo, so that there is already some basic recognition with XBMC.

Ladies and gents, let me introduce you "Zapy" [working title, open for suggestions]

Image

Those are just some rough sketches where I tried to show how this mascot could be used. Also the shading is missing in the small versions and the shape of the body is not yet setteled in those. As you might have noticed, he has a display for his eyes, but this one can also display anything else of course, like you see in the lower two rows. And for all those that don't like cute avatars, there is this gray/silver version for you (hope you get it Wink)

I don't have some splash screens with Zapy on to show, because I don't think we need the mascot on there (KISS) - but if you guys feel like, one could of course be created once needed.

Open for comments/suggestions.

Heh - love the pong, nice work! Smile

Great work all - these are looking awesome - we're gonna have a hard time choosing I think!

Wow da-anda, I really love that!

Fun. Friendly. Still suitably techie. Simple, but abstract enough to not get pigeonholed into one animal/robot/whatever theme.

Very versatile using the shape of the logo as a display port. I can really picture various uses exactly how you've demonstrated them. I can just imagine him animated, walking around and changing his position and having the display change pictures depending on function. Kinda like the MS Office Clippy, but much cooler.

Of everything so far, I think this one has the most practical use cases. As an example of what's possible with a versatile logo like this, just think about the Android figurines that keep selling out before I can get some!

Though I have to say, I'm not fond of the name. I really like the thought of naming the mascot Ecksbie, regardless of which one gets chosen.

Yeah, making choices is going to be pretty rough. I was expecting maybe one vaguely good design, not one dozen.
