I didn't read through the entire thread, but I have to say my favorite so far is the XBMC fish. Not sure which version I like the best though. I really like how much work radiantdreamer has put into his/hers, but like others have said, I don't really want anime on my XBMC.

tried a slightly different body shape (indicated legs an smaller "head"). And somebody had the idea to use "Zapy" [still working title] for genre icons and wanted to see a Zylon version of it - there you go (it's just a quickie though). But now, back to work

So what would a spiff Zapy look like? Smile

First off i would like to thank everyone for there positive comments and observations, this is the first thing ive ever tried to design and having you guys show interest in it is a real motivator ,Thank You.

i was messing around with the mascot in Photoshop for a couple of hours and right before i was ready to call it quits i found the spherize filter in Photoshop.
Not to toot my own horn, but I think it looks pretty cool.

I like the roundness it gives the smaller, blue logo, but the gradient doesn't look all that great now, the shine in the middle just looks a bit off, i much prefer the earlier one i quoted.

Also, I know it's supposed to be a mascot, but i preferred the slightly abstract look, without the eyes and smile. It was much cleaner.

I agree with you, I prefer the flat version with a single eye, the reason for the mouth is that it could be hard for someone to tell its a fish.

And im not 100% on what the developers of XBMC are looking for in a mascot.
So im trying give as many variants of the concept as i can.

Its a X and a B merged together that also happens to look like a fish, No religious undertones intended.

By spiff he means the xbmc dev spiff I guess

I think zapy is still the most versatile mascot out tjere. he could be integrated into skins, promotions, conference/exhibit material etc...
