Plan is to eventually have vertical home layout as alternative in Quartz 3. Not available yet, though.

Sounds good, i think the Quartz 2 home menu has definitely potential.

Is the plan to finish out what you need to with the existing Q 3.0.3 then add the optional vertical menu as a non default option ? Just curious how you see it working.

Yup.

- Make sure horizontal layout and core functionality is bug free
- Send Quartz 2 to retirement
- Add graphite theme
- Improve animations and looks
- Vertical layout (as alternate, probably without recent items and such - Front Row simple style)

As a matter of fact I think we are getting close to stable. If 3.0.4 proves to be bug free next step is moving it to my and eden repo eventually.

Been hammering on it on two atv 1's and my MBP ... I would have to agree.
