I am trying to fix the television database and tvdb code so it will have full meta, fanart, banner, poster for tv shows in all lists. This alone will make it much prettier to use. I am also adding auto set view to make it show a good view for meta-data.
I plan to do the library export but it is going to depend mostly on the new database. it is going to be for exporting by show. The Favorite Show list will most likely be the main way to export.
This will enable people to mark their favorite shows and have all their full episodes exported.
If you aren't familiar with hulu or amazon exporting to library then I will explain. It exports a bunch of strm and nfo files. You can then add them as a source to scan the files into your xbmc database. they strm files contain parameters that will launch the plugin to resolve the final video link. the nfo is just meta-data on the video. Hulu has an auto update script to execute the queue export on a timer. I want to update that to include amazon and free cable exporting.
This will enable queue like functionality for free cable with your library. It would simply scan any new episodes for favorite shows into your library on a timer.

Thanks for updating this BlueCop, I am using this plugin but it is cumbersome to get to full episodes without having everything in your favorites. Library integration would be awesome, I plan on setting up a PsuedoTV channel of new episodes from this plugin.

I did an update to add back the All Shows and add Favorite Shows.
All Shows should have meta-data now. It also has settings for view changes based on content. It sets the root directory to icon view for the station icons. You can change this in the settings.
I had it scan all the shows from TVDB but it might not have matched everything perfect. I did a quick scan through to correct anything I saw. You can fix anything incorrect via context item to refresh tvdb data.
You add/remove from favorites via context items on the show items.
I would reset the settings to default to make sure the disabled station list is correct. I am working to re-enable some of them but right not they could work or could cause problems. anyway the disabled stuff needs some more work even if it might be somewhat useful in its current form.
It is much much much prettier now. It should have more meta-data, fanart, banners, posters, ect. This combined with setting the default view makes it look nicer.
This database was partly to lay the ground work for the library export. I still need to fix some stations because they aren't utilizing all meta-data on videos available from the site. I want them all to use all available data. It should be fairly simple to setup exporting after that.
I was thinking of a feature similar to the library artist match from my VEVO plugin. If your favorite shows is empty It would basically just query your local TV database for a list of shows and then match that against what is available. It would add any matches to favorites. I could add a context item to re-add if your favs aren't empty.
anyone interested in a feature like this?
I am also going to play with the database to add more listing options based on the meta. I was thinking listing by year, actors, genres, original network, rating and maybe run time(half hour, hour, etc).
If anyone has any ideas let me know. I will probably add some sorting options to the all shows and favorite show lists.
If anyone finds any mismatched shows. I mean the meta-data doesn't match the available content.(like old version of show for new version of show content) I am trying to eliminate any of them. Post the station and show that has the problem. If you could link to the proper show on http://thetvdb.com it would be helpful too. I can probably work it out if it is obvious though. Once I correct the mismatches then it should be fixed for everyone in the future.

Just got the update and a lot of the tv stations are missing.
I see:
A&E, ABC, ABCf, AMC, Bio, Bravo, CBC, CW, Food, History, Lifetime, NBC, Nickelodeon, Oxygen, Syfy, USA, WB
Everything else is poof. Any thoughts?
Also, I looked into some shows (eg 60 minutes) and there are two options for Full Episodes and both display the same content.

helpermonkey: they are just disabled for now. I will be re-enabling more by default in the future. Some only play properly with special librtmp. I have not finished updating all of these for the new database.
make sure to reset the settings to the default and it should be the default list of enabled stations.
yea some cbs shows are a little strange. It ends up with multiply items because the have 2 carousels named that. it hasn't been a priority because it doesn't effect much.

someone suggested that before. I am pretty set on the name now though. It grew on me.
I will probably do an update that will fix Teen Nick, Nick Toons and Game Show Network later tonight. I also want to redo The Hub.
MTV Shows, VH1 Shows, Spike, TV Land, amd Comedy Central have issues currently. Some are disabled due to librtmp being unable to play the streams due to new adobe rtmp features. I want to rewrite VH1 and MTV to work differently because they are crap right now. spike, tv land, and comedy central have rtmp issues.
National Geographic and Nat Geo Wild are currently disable. The show and episodes list fine. They even play for about 90 seconds but they then drop. They are http streams. They use external commands to adjust bandwidth etc. I believe it is required for continued streaming. I need to figure out everything going on so we can stream the episodes fully.
FOX and FX aren't coming back currently due to DRM on their streams.
I also want to add a Crackle station, PBS, HGTV, Smithsonian Channel, and Link TV.

I would check your librtmp and upgrade it if possible.
Did another update to bring Nick Toons, Teen Nick and GSN into the new system. They should be enabled by default and working.

For some reason the plugin loads in thumbnail mode as opposed to the default list mode. Running it on an ATV 2 with the latest version (Eden)
does this happen to anyone else?

cablegoon. it is a setting now, just change it. I defaulted to icon because i liked it.
Update:
I did another update to re-enable MTV and bring it update to date. It should work much better now on multi-season shows.
I also did some work on several other stations to bring them in line with the new database. Some of these stations are still broken due to rtmp issues. Hopefully these will be fixable in the future.
i tried to add the reason a station is disabled in the settings. So it is easily known why something is off.
Update:
I am going to try to implement a http proxy for national geographic and nat geo wild. I need to get session information from the flv to be able to send the proper commands to the server to maintain the stream. I think it will work pretty well by xbmc connecting to the local python server and then it grabs the remote file and does the needed command and control. I was trying to think of a way to fix these and this is all i could think of.
so as it stands right now these are the problematic stations.
1. Comedy Central - Native librtmp will have issues(Not sure if swfverify2). It needs some updates for comedycentral.com hosted shows. I will look into this more later
2. FOX & FX - DRM on videos
3. Nat Geo & Nat Geo Wild - stream drops
4. Spike & TV Land - Using SWFVerify2 and won't stream.
5. VH1 - New librtmp Handshake required.
These stations I want to develop next.
