Can't see XBMC on Windows 7 - jonathanwash - 2011-06-08 I have a Acer Revo running XBMC Live and I use Ember Media Manager on my laptop running Windows 7 to manage the video files before I upload them to the externals that are hooked up to the Acer (I know, it's a little bit chaotic). Anyway, I wanted to see if I could add the external as source on EMM through the network but Windows 7 doesn't see the XBMC machine at all. Does anyone know how to have the XBMC show up on Windows 7? Excuse me if I posted this in the wrong section. - techmad - 2011-06-08 You need to install samba and configure a share in order for your Windows machine to be able to access the external drive. You can find a guide on how to do it here. It would probably be easiest to set the share path to /media so that any drives you have connected will be shared. Hope this helps |
