Seems to be a librtmp issue Confused kind of strange it's only the archive games.

I think this is due to it being an older version of mlbhls, I'll try compiling the latest.

That would be awesome, maybe create a patch file of the source changes.

Anyone have this working on a Pivos box running Linux xbmc?

Hls or otherwise?

Was working fine, but now live games, condensed, and archived games give me a script error.

Here is pastebin of xbmc.log: xbmc.log

Strange, in that log it looks like it errors getting the games for a date. Seems as if your internet is down or something. To get more information in the log you can enable the debugging add-on setting.

Hey,

Not sure if this is an issue with me or what, but while playing a live game, it seems to lag and then speed up and then lag and then speed up etc.. It's not a long period of lag or anything maybe a split second.. but its noticeable. It's watchable but weird to the eye. The sound is fine though, and never goes out of sync. I've recorded a video of it with my cell but I'm not sure if you can notice it or not. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wO5M6xz_ix8

I'd also like to add that it only works with file in file out. If I use the other way it caches for X seconds then after that is up it just exits and asks if I want to restart the player. It doesn't seem to continue to buffer.. or it's not buffering fast enough?

I'm using openelec so I'm using a pre-compiled mlbhls binary a dev had posted (here). Maybe someone could share a newer or more up to date version?

Thank you

Wow. I should have checked this thread a while ago. I used the MLB addon last year, but I hated that it wasn't in HD. This new version is fantastic. It even plays using my external player. Fantastic!

I am retarded. I use a DNS service to get around local blackouts, which I used while on vacation (my registered IP changed). I just reset it (my IP) back at home and I'm pretty sure this will fix my problem.

EDIT:

Yup. Fixed lol

RE: [Release] MLBMC - a Major League Baseball (video) add-on - Clobber - 2013-08-18

Couple of probably basic questions:

1) Yesterday (17 August 2013) there are a couple of games on mlb.tv that only have one HD source which is FOX-HD (for example, the Yankees/Red Sox game). Those games won't play in MLBMC for me. Everything else seems to still work fine. Most games seem to have two sources - one for home team and the other for visiting. However these don't. Any idea how to get them to play?

2) I've been running MLBMC from the xbmc repo using windows XP. Yeah, I know but it is working. What exactly is MLB HLS? I have both the MC and HLS versions installed on my windows XBMC but don't get anything to play with the HLS version. Is this a Linux only thing?

thanks!

Archive games > Aug 10th - are broken, with the regular(non hls) add-on. It seems to be some sort of authentication issue with librtmp.

I think there may be issues using Windows XP. The HLS version uses an external(to xbmc) hls client, similar to the Nexdef client that you can install when using a browser. I don't have an XP install to test/develop with Confused

This isn't related to the add-on. It has to do with your system or xbmc build(openelec). You would get better help asking in their forum.

That is the prefered method for non windows. The only disadvantage is seeking doesn't work. You might try increasing the wait time in the add-on settings. If that doesn't get the video started, post a link to your log.

You might try the hls add-on.

Sorry, did not work for me. I got a mlbtv_player.py error using XP.

Can you clarify what HLS means? The normal mlbmc has an option for HLS streams. Is that not fuctional or some how different in mlb-hls?

The mlb-hls addon desclaimer says it requires thegrayghosts client. Do I need that running under windows?

Thanks. After messing around with all the setting I'm now able to watch the archived (tested Red Sox-Yanks) games.
But not having the 'skipping' possibiliy is kinda bad.... the good thing about the archived games is that you can skip commercials and 2-hour-rain-delays, right? ;-) for this, I won't miss the HD

any chance on getting the issue on the normal mlbmc fixed?

Mlbviewer was recently patched to fix rtmp archives, this may help divingmule, here are the relevant diffs:

I think this will fix the archived games, If someone else can confirm, I'll send pull request to the main repo.
