How to fix SMB shares not working if Windows Live Messenger installed? - Jay Cartay - 2011-07-01
Hi folks, I have recently got an Apple TV 1G, and have had a few issues with it. I am now up and running, but cannot connect to the SMB shares on my Windows 7 PC unless Windows Live Messenger is uninstalled.
I want to have both working, so need a solution to this. I read up on this issue and discovered lots of stuff written about a problem with Samba, and a patch being required. I cannot find this patch anywhere, or how to implement it.
Can anyone help?
Also, an unrelated issue, but I have installed the iPlayer plugin, using the install from zip method. It seems to work for on demand streaming, but it will not work if I try to watch live.
I am in the UK.
