Sorry for the noobish question, but for the advanced version where does the Advanced.bat go? In the AutoRipDVD folder? And should i rename it as .bat or just keep it as .txt?

Question for kyrios2021. I read back on 12-03 and 12-04 that with your LG drive you suggested a firmware update, that it worked for you. Then the person you told did that and it worked for him. I'm having the same problem with some discs and have my desktop system with an LG drive and my dedicated HTPC with an LG drive. I can't find anything anywhere about being able to update the firmware on either drive. Where did you find the updates? Thanks for any help!

Go to

http://www.lg.com/us/support

Click the big square "Downloads" button
Click "Computer Products"
On the left Click "Burners & Drives"
Choose your type of drive in the next column
Choose your model number of your drive (you may have to pull the drive out and read the model from the sticker on the bottom of it)
Click "Go"
Click the "Software Update" tab about halfway down the screen
Download and install the latest.

Make sure you have nothing else running on your computer when you do this, and that the model number matches exactly or your drive may become unusable. DO AT YOUR OWN RISK!

Well...that explains it. Neither drive I own is listed there as having any updates. Thanks Spinal!

I have installed everything, but when I create a launcher called AutoRipDVD and try to open it, I get an error "error script failed: addon.py". Any pointers?

I can echo this, Is there anyway to get this to work on Linux? Anyone? Windows is so bloated.

RE: One Button DVD/BluRay Ripping using a Launcher from within XBMC - Spinalcrack - 2013-01-17

These scripts are windows only, and currently I do not have a linux box set up. Porting them to linux should be possible though, but unfortunately I do not have the time to take on that project.

This thread here

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=67420

shows how to use makemkv to stream a blu-ray, so that could be tweaked to rip the blu-ray instead of streaming it fairly easily, then just a renaming script would have to be made.

Hi,

When I try to download AutoRip DVD it fails as my anti virus says its a trojan. Is this correct?

RE: One Button DVD/BluRay Ripping using a Launcher from within XBMC - Spinalcrack - 2013-01-17

It is definitely 100% not a virus. lol. It's just a false positive. Probably because it has an exe installer that has an exe file compressed within it. All the code has been looked at and altered by others on here to produce even more advanced versions etc. There is nothing malicious in AutoRipDVD.

RE: One Button DVD/BluRay Ripping using a Launcher from within XBMC - uh_oh - 2013-01-17

I didn't think it was as there are several people here who are probably more pc savvy than me and have used it. I will download it on another pc.

All I am after is an easy way to rip my dvd's and then use the Rasberry Pi with xbmc to watch them - nothing to difficult Huh

Working great, but I have one question....
When I launch AutoRipDVD from within XBMC, XBMC is switched from fullscreen to windowed mode. Is there a setting in either software that I can adjust to fix this issue?
