[Mini-ITX] Pentium-G620 (2x2.6Ghz) + GT210 - eskro - 2011-07-19 If you feel like thanking me for my work, you can DONATE --> Here [CPU] Intel Celeron G530 Dual-Core 2.4GHz LGA1155 65W ($53 + $0) [MOBO] ASRock B75M-ITX LGA-1155 UEFI SATA-III USB3 eSATA S/PDIF mITX ($90 + $7) [GPU] ZOTAC GT210 512MB DDR3 64-bit Fanless Low Profile ($36 + $4) [CASE+PSU] Apex MI-008 Black mITX 250W ($50 + $0) [FAN] SilenX EFX-12-15 120mm 1400RPM 74CFM 15dBA ($12 + $3) TOTAL: $255 ** G530 CPU should be used with DDR3-1066MHz memory sticks only ** - poofyhairguy - 2011-07-19 This build is the current value winner IMHO. - eskro - 2011-07-19 I agree with you! Definitely a value winner at $239!! it's pretty much the same price as a barebone ZOTAC ZBOX HD-ND22 but the G620 CPU completely pawns it!! thia HTPC is dynamite in a small package - luna_s - 2011-07-19 I just built a very similar machine, the board is very nice for the money. however I used [GPU] Gainward NVIDIA GT 520 SilentFX Graphics Card - 1GB 39.02 ukp For the graphics. And for a little bit more I used this cpu which has lower TDP 35w as opposed to 65w. [CPU] Intel CPU Pentium G620T Socket 1155 Dual Core Processor 58.35 ukp Also treated myself to a nice case so the GPU would fit [CASE & PSU] Silverstone SG05 Mini-ITX Case - Black w/ 300W Power Supply 74.99 ukp Also you forgot the memory, I just went to crucial.com for it, 2 gig came to about 20 ukp A tiny little bit more but more future proof imo Also installed my old ssd - the thing flies a restart takes 26 seconds. Incidently, you're approving these builds and they don't work OOTB with latest dharma live-cd , they need a fair bit of fiddling to work (does work with openelec tho :p) - eskro - 2011-07-19 i did not forgot the memory... like i said in my HTPC Guide all the builds are 'BarBone', Meaning, RAM and Hard Drives aren't included... Those are left-out purposely so you can choose them yourself according to your needs/budget! - luna_s - 2011-07-19 ok point taken! - eskro - 2011-07-19 luna_s Wrote:ok point taken! - avpap - 2011-07-19 poofyhairguy Wrote:This build is the current value winner IMHO. + 1000.I Absolutely agree with that, wins hands down in every aspect all ION and Zacate builds, except Power Consumption. One problem though with Asus P8H61-1 Mobo = No Optical Spdif for those with Old AV Receiver. My Choice for Mobo would be Asrock H67M-ITX [url=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157238][/url]. - dajackal - 2011-07-22 would it be possible to pair up this build with this case? Antec ISK310-150 -Mini-ITX Desktop with Silver Front panel, 150-watt power supply or 150W won't cut it? from what i can tell the G620 draws about 35W and the GT210 about an additional 30W source: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1665413 http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/display/pentium-g850-g840-g620_8.html - dajackal - 2011-07-22 additionally what's the advantage of GT210 vs say the IGP HD2000 in a i3-2000? I couldn't find any benchmarks comparing the two. Would it be realistic to expect some gaming on the GT210? - avpap - 2011-07-22 dajackal Wrote:additionally what's the advantage of GT210 vs say the IGP HD2000 in a i3-2000? Easy answer. GT 210 = Perfect 24p (23,976) Playback. Intel IGP = Buggy 24p and only (Cannot produce 23,976) playback and loses a frame in every 40". . - eskro - 2011-07-22 150W PSU is enough for a mini-ITX + G620 + GT430 thanks!! - briangarson - 2011-07-27 Eskro, You have no idea how useful your threads are, or maybe you do, either way, I wish google would pick them up so that more people can find them. I'm looking at doing this build, and wanted to double check before I click the checkout button that this will work for: 1080p 2d video, and bitstream HD Audio output. Looking for everything output into my receiver via HDMI, I'm assuming the GeForce can handle that? any modifications suggestions also welcome
Thanks - avpap - 2011-07-28 briangarson Wrote:Eskro, I have exactly the same setup in an Antec ISK 300-150 case, except the Ripjaws (i bought the Corsair XMS3). - macv - 2011-07-28 Can I ask what the noise is like with your setup avpap, would you say its silent? |
