Ongoing TV Shows should work, I don't understand why it doesn't for some people. It works fine on both my computers.
Just to let everyone know, after this post, I will not be updating/answering question until June. I have an important job interview tomorrow and university deadlines coming up. By all means ask question but realise you will have to wait a while for a response!

I installed it and I can see from my xbmc.log file that it is being loaded but it has not resolved the issue

And you have unwatched TV Shows/Episodes you're currently watching? Else it won't show anything.

Yes. I verified that I have at least two shows with unwatched episodes.

You should at least start watching the first episode, then you'll see the second episode of that tvshow, showing in the ongoing tvshows widget. Be sure the first episode is marked as watched!

UPDATE: From reading the watch list thread there are issues with it and Nightlies, which I run

So i suggest 2 options:
1. Try out with another skin, there are a lot supporting the watchlist script
2. Post your debug log file in the respective thread http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=113702&pid=926016#pid926016
As said, working on my end with at least different skins ( breeze, fusion migma v2, cirrus extended v2 and aeon nox )
