RE: [WIP] "Breeze" - Eddage - 2012-07-15

Biggest update yet!

I think all the main dialogs are now coded, it crept up on me a bit at the end without me realising how close I was! I still need to code the TV guide and finish of the vertical home menu (it's a bit of a mess at the moment) but other than that the main release is finished.

If everyone who's been testing could please update and then start reporting back any bugs, there are a few I'm aware of but if everyone can chip in then I'll be able to get a 'to do list' together and should have them ironed out fairly quickly. Then I can get back to creating a few more views for the libraries, got a couple of ideas that I think should look good!

I am moving house today (this computer will be boxed up in about 10 minutes :p) and wont have internet at the new place until Friday so there probably wont be any replies from me until then. I'll try to follow any posts on my phone though and start making the list.

See you all on the other side!

Eddage

RE: [WIP] "Breeze" - FREAKJAM - 2012-07-15

Thanks for the big update! Their seems to be a bug in the scrolling part though: (it overlaps)
Running Eden 11.0 final, no nightlies or whatsoever.

Good luck moving! :-)

RE: [WIP] "Breeze" - drivesoslow - 2012-07-15

Looks great. I'm not sure though if I like how each section on the main menu overlaps with the neighbor, i.e.: When Im on Files I see TV Shows tiles to the left and the Music tiles to the right.

RE: [WIP] "Breeze" - Markus23 - 2012-07-15

Hi , thanks for the update..

- also noticed this "scrolling" bug in horizontal view
- in vertical view only the default bubble background is used. In 0.5.0 breeze uses content from film and tv show backdrops !?
- still missing the "hide picture" option from the "configure home items" menu for vertical view.
- also in 0.5.0 but still in 0.7.0 i'm getting this "busy notice" (rotating circle) when starting xbmc. when pressing "back" the normal main menu got shown.

This is the debug log when this rotating circle shows up:

This seems to be a more general error, because it happens wether using breeze or another skin.
But maybe someone have some hints for this error, too.

anyway thanks for the update ...

PS:

Also missing in 0.7 is marking seen movies/episodes. in 0.5 it was working.

RE: [WIP] "Breeze" - Tobby - 2012-07-15

Haven't updated in quite a while, but I gotta say that I miss the old brighter icons.

Everything else looks great.

RE: [WIP] "Breeze" - sialivi - 2012-07-16

[Request]
When you're updating your library, the icon in the top right corner has no visual indicator whether or not it has focus. Maybe the green arrow could turn blue while it has focus, like the favourites icon next to it does.

RE: [WIP] "Breeze" - Eddage - 2012-07-29

Okay guys, basically I've come to the end of my time with Breeze. It's taken up a year of my life and whilst it has been fun learning how to code skins I feel like I've taken it as far as I can.

I would love for someone to come along and continue with it, I will of course provide all the psd's, etc that I have made and any support that may be needed.

As I mentioned previously I do have ideas for other views, etc, however these will no longer be added to Breeze, instead I am putting these ideas together in a new skin, a much better coded skin (seriously the coding for Breeze is a mess :-p). I am using foundation as a base this time so I don't end up with thousands of lines of code that I don't actually need.

As with Breeze inspiration has been taken from loads of other skins, of course all will be credited!

And so I can now offer you a sneak preview of "as of yet, unnamed skin"...

All of these screens are now coded, in fact after about a weeks and a half work I have coded about half the dialogs. It is a lot easier starting from a clean slate, and of course the fact I know what I'm doing this time greatly helps :-p

You can probably expect a dedicated thread and alpha release towards the end of August/start of September.

And you had to quote the whole posts for that comment?!

Well yeah, that's kinda the point. I'm not gonna drastically change my design style, you can think of it as a breeze 2.0 if you like.

I was just informing everyone that I personally am no longer continuing with the original skin. I still like it, but I already prefer this new, refined version and will be sticking with it.

If you're already using it, couldn't we get an Alpha release sooner than end of August? Big Grin
As a long time Breeze user I would also like to add, that the font size on Breeze v1 was a bit too small for my 42" TV :/
I'm hopping between Rapier and Breeze atm.

Can you make the font size adjustable in "v2" ? Smile
(Or maybe slightly bigger?)

Thanks!
Love the work so far!

Good luck.
