Pre-11.0 xbmc-pvr: crashes playing mkv from smb share - sja1440 - 2011-08-14
Installed today the stable Natty version from pulse eight.
XBMC crashes every time I try to play an mkv from an SMB share.

that's an issue in mainline it seems. something appears to go wrong when you the alsa device is initialised. check whether your sound device is (still) set up correctly in system->system->audio output, or ask for help in the non-pvr part of the forum.

Thanks for the fast reply - i'll do that.
Is it possible for me to go back to the Dharma version of xbmc-pvr for Natty? I can't see how to do it.

I finally resolved my problem by unsetting both VDPAU and VAAPI hardware acceleration settings in xbmc (settings->video->playback).
