uhm, im not super sure, maybe a screenie would help,

is it possible to change the order that items display on the main menu?
AKA, due to various active/deactive items, I've got
VPLAYLIST1 VPLAYLIST2 ADDON1 ADDON2 VIDEOS TV SHOWS
and I'd like to reorder them to
ADDON2 VPLAYLIST1 VPLAYLIST2 TV SHOWS ADDON1
or something like that

I too want to know the answer to your question to shift the focus of the main menu shortcuts, assuming it is the same with the Dharma version.

It's not possible from within the skin options. I think (Marcos please correct me if I'm wrong here) that it's currently not possible with the skinning options Eden has to make the order of the home menu items dynamic.
The order of the menu items is determined by the way Home.xml is set up.
On this wiki page: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Static_List_Content is explained, very basic, how static content works. You can change the order of the content items in Home.xml, keep in mind that as soon as the skin (auto) updates your changes will be reverted.

To perform such a function would require a script to rewrite the XML, just so we could change the order of menus.
That's very common in the skins of MediaPortal but non-existent here, unfortunately.
