Wake XBMC/Windows with IR Remote - cami - 2011-08-17

Hi,

I'v googled this a fair bit, no luck.

This is the remote.
http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=81022

PC is "eMachines ER1402"

Iv set up the remote fine in xbmc, worked straight away for basic functions, used intelliremote to add more advanced features.

The problem is as the title suggests it wont wake the PC. It puts it to sleep but wont wake it. The wireless keyboard and mouse wake it up no problem. The BIOS has K/M enabled under USB. The other options didnt seem useful. (RTC alarm, WOL) It had a deep power saving enabled in that section.

That was pretty much all there was in the bios. So not sure why the USB works for K/M but not the IR device?

Any suggestions?

This comment won't help, but I plan to do this in the next few days and I would love to know how. However, I do believe that this must be on the web. There must be tons of tutorials about it, obviously I can't talk as I haven't even looked yet, but are you sure you can't find any?

The entire first page is clouded with articles and people with the same issue, just look around a bit. I'm sure this forum is asked the question a million times over. (if they aren't I apologise, but yeah, I don't want to sound like an absolute tool either) I'm just trying to help you and the forum. Sorry if I sounded rude Smile

ps - if you read this and know a good link to a helpful tutorial for this, feel free to post it. I don't need it now, but seeing as the thread has already been made, why waste it. Hope you get your answer Cami.

Thanks for the link, ill read through it. But trust me i did look, i spent at least a gd hr or so looking around google, these fourms etc, checking BIOS, device manager etc.

Most suggestions i found were related to the mouse and keyboard not working, which wont help here or others were too confusing for my tiny brain to take in! Big Grin

EDIT: U sneaky bugger, hitting me with the lmgtfy link! lol i did that the other day! lol
