Yup. Same here. I still cannot download and install the plugin. Makes no sense. I can install every addon in the bluecop repo except Amazon. How can I grab it and do a manual install?

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - UberLinuxCoder - 2012-11-01

This link is the addon itself. I was able to download it in XBMC on my Mac. I transferred it to my Apple TV, which is where I couldn't download it. Extract it to your addon folder (varies by operating system). Let me know if it works for any of you. I'll try it in the morning.

Thank You for the link. I ended up deleting this folder and then the addon installed.

C:\Users\tv\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\plugin.video.amazon

I am guessing there was a corrupt file.

I am running Crystal ubuntu from USB on my ATV1.. same issue.. unziped the plugin directly into /root/.xbmc/addons/
did not work first since gunzip did not accept the file.. did a sudo apt-get install unzip.. used that.
then it was install but script error.
then in XBMC unistalled the Video Add on.. and re install through XBMC using the blue cop repository.. works now again!!

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - UberLinuxCoder - 2012-11-03

Hrmm... I had a similar problem, MoeDee. I'm using Eden on an ATV 2. The weird thing is that it downloaded once on it, but it wouldn't stream anything. I replaced the .dylib, and it erased the jailbreak. How, I don't know, but I reinstalled XBMC and I could never get it to install the addon. Anyone else have a suggestion?

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - UberLinuxCoder - 2012-11-09

I got it to download!! I had to manually download the dependancies (see addon.xml in the link above) and try downloading it over and over. Eventually, it said the download was successful, and it just worked! Might not solve everyone's problems, but when there's a will, there's a way...

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - tephyrnex - 2012-11-11

I was getting the message about "incorrect format". I downloaded the zip file manually, and removed the _MAC_OSX folder and .DS_STORE files, then re-zipped. The add-on then installed correctly. from ZIP.

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - UberLinuxCoder - 2012-11-11

Sorry! I'll remove those from the .zip. I'm busy, but it'll most likely be fixed by Wednesday.

Edit: Fixed! Did it work?

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - spyder - 2012-11-14

I just got Amazon prime(since they now have monthly) and I used the built-in export to library, which works fine. However, while playing episodes it get 10-15 minutes in and goes into loading the stream again and starts over. I can skip to where it cut off, but I'm wondering if this is a common problem. Anyone else have this problem?

It has happened to me once or twice. But then I restarted (starting playing the video again, not restarting XMBC) it and it played all the way through. I would like some sort of ability to start a video where you left off. That would be great.

I searched through this thread a little more, and bluecop posted that it could be a bandwidth issue(that only applies to amazon). Something else I found is that you can enter a time with your keypad(if you remember where it stopped that is), rather than skipping and ff.

sometimes I can play something and sometimes I cannot - any ideas based on my output?

Hi all,

I'm getting an error when trying to watch a rented video:
Code:

It looks like the call to https://atv-ps.amazon.com/cdp/catalog/GetStreamingUrlSets returns with an error message. This error is on Amazon's server? Then the plugin seems to make a fallback attempt and grabs the preview with a call to https://atv-ps.amazon.com/cdp/catalog/GetStreamingTrailerUrls.

As a follow up question, what is atv-ps.amazon.com? Is there any documentation anyone can point me to?

EDIT:
To quickly follow up on this, I fired up the video in Chrome with it's developer tools enabled, and grabbed the corresponding URL request. A couple of the URL parameters were different:
asin was a different value.
xws-fa-ov was true (it was false in the call through xbmc)

No idea yet what these URL parameters indicate, but thought I would make note of it.

EDIT2:
Looks like asin is Amazon's unique product identifier (Amazon Standard Identification Number), so I wonder how the plugin came up with a different value than what my browser came up with.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amazon_Standard_Identification_Number

EDIT3:
Looks like the two asin's take you to the same place:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001VIMCW4 (this is where my browser takes me)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004NEY9EW (this is where the plugin takes me)

It isn't clear to me what the difference is in the products and if it could have anything to do with the server error.

Thanks

RE: [RELEASE] Amazon Prime Instant Video plug-in addon - Demerit - 2012-11-26

Think I solved my own problem (Amazon Prime, BlueCop, Macintosh)

Using BlueCop 0.6.4 and receiving messages like "Failed to Login" and "Plugin Failed!: plugin.amazon.com"

Went to Settings > Network > Internet Access

Deselected "Use an HTTP proxy server to access the internet." I must have accidentally selected that a while back.

Now I can play movies and T.V. shows from my Amazon Prime account using BlueCop. Thanks BlueCop!

I'm on a Macbook Pro (Late 2011) running OS 10.7.5, Eden (11.4.2).

Thanks! Love the plugin!! Is there somewhere I can buy you a beer?
