XBMC live with remote control - peroxidew - 2011-09-02 Hi, I have purchased a remote control from ebay after checking its compatibility in xbmc wiki. i'm not sure what i should choose in lirc, i mean which driver? i've used this manual and the remote doesn't seem to respond. the remote is this choose the hp mce to view its details. i can see that it is receving commands from the remote because the receiver shows a dot when ever a button is pressed. how can this be repaired? Thanks - Cyberyaga - 2011-09-09 You need to be more specific... What steps have you done to get the remote working? What does your /etc/lirc/lircd.conf look like? what does your /etc/lirc/hardware.conf look like? Are you able to get anything when you do "irw"? when you do "mode2 -d /dev/lirc0" do you see a bunch of codes when you press the remote control buttons? - peroxidew - 2011-09-10 Hi, thanks for the reply, i followed these steps from this link http://www.axemansplace.co.uk/2010/10/17/xbmc-live-dharma-beta-3-adding-an-unsupported-media-centre-remote/ the lircd.conf, hardware.conf are the default ones, i tried others from a web generator but it was the same. when i try irw the commands aren't shown. nothing is shown in irw actually. in the manual there is a modprobe lirc_mceusb command. when i type it the reply is, module lirc not found. when i type lsusb i get this line (example) Bus 004 Device 002: ID 147a:e03e Formosa Industrial Computing, Inc. but with different numbers, and there is no product name. |
