Im afraid no go for me I have checked in user groups guest is activated as well as a shares, but every time i try to log on to zeroconfig my iMac pos up but when i hit enter it says working and thats it, I then try to do it manually but it can't find it, I appreciate the help memphiz, I just don't understand it, the only weird thing for me is under sharing with my apple movies I have a list as guest, everyone, and UNKNOWN USER, which it won't allow me to delete, The only other thing i can think of is there is something wrong with this build

I just tried last night's version:

xbmc-20110921-e866112-master-i386

When I try to play a movie from the library located on a symlinked volume, I get the message:

"This file is no longer available, do you want to remove it from your library?"

Also, many thumbnails and fan art are still broken. I asked before how to make sure the paths to those are changed also, but haven't heard an answer yet.

When I tried to change one of the broken thumbnails, I got another crash, when I hit "OK" to set the remote thumbnail.

For the symlink problem i need the xbmc.log. Could be that it is included in the 22th of sept nightly. Also i would like to see a "ls -al" on your shared folder for getting an idea how you symlinked.

The crash is related to the new jpeg decoder... - dev is pinged ...

Just upgraded to the latest nightly 21/9/2011 and still the same :{

I have the same problem, I cant connect to any external disk shares! It works with the internal disk drive of my iMac but when I try to connect to my external Seagate disk it fails. Im using Lion with AFP, I try EVERYTHING and it doesnt work, anyone else is having this problem? BTW my external disks are in NTFS and FAT, I wonder if this could be the problem.

OK, I now used the Sep 23 nightly with the same problem(s):

1. Tried to play a film called "9 Naga" located on Volume "Rakus" with the "no longer exists in your library" error.

2. many thumbnails and fanart still broken in Movie library.

I noticed a few things from the log:

1. I see no mention of the movie I tried to play ("9 Naga").

2. However I repeatedly see 4 "OpenDir" messages related to 4 OTHER movies in the same volume & directory, that suggest that smb:// is somehow still being used. (Even though I changed everything to afp:// in the .db files, AFAIK.)

no i'm running it too, but even though it shows up in finder on all my macs instantly, i cannot get xbmc to recognise it on my atv2 but it does work on my macbook, both running latest nightlies

to you guys having trouble getting afp going, you may want to download and use a handy configuration utility called SharePoints -- http://www.hornware.com/sharepoints/

i can't confirm if it works with Lion but i managed to get my afp setup up and running pretty quickly using SharePoints to create my shares (one usb external hd and one fw). for whatever reason it can be tricky getting external drives shared using only the OS X Sharing prefpane to setup.

i've had SharePoints in my toolbox for years and it's always just worked.

10.4 and lower only. I used to have this software years ago and they dropped support in 10.5, so 10.6 and 10.7 also don't work. People kept asking them to update support, but the developers there never did.

I just wonder from reading the above posts, is there a problem with afp share if you are using lion, no matter which build I have tried I can't get afp to work.

Symlinks into other volumes definitily won't work. Sorry if i missunderstood you before.

Don't know what i should say ... but normally in forums only users which have problems post something. I would like to help you - but i don't know which i should try else for reproducing that behaviour here. And i can't fix things i don't see Sad

Memphiz told me that this did not have anything to do with AFP. However this only happens when i connect using AFP. If I connect using NFS then it will scrap fine.

I am testing using: xbmc-20110923-7ebde3d-master-atv2.deb (I also tried xbmc-20110924-0074b5e-master-atv2.deb). I have no problem scrapping using AFP and this version: xbmc-20110908-9a72b39-master-atv2.deb.

Below is a link to a log where i first try to scan the library using an AFP connection and it finds nothing. Afterwards i delete the source and create one using NFS and then it starts scanning (i stop the scan after a few moments).

imho only the "[fix] - mark files starting with "." as hidden for" is there ... but it only hides files which start with "." ... don't know what else is going on though ...

for ruling it out enable the hidden files in your settings (settings->appearence->file lists->show hidden files and directories)

Thanks for the answer but enabling the hidden files did not do the trick.

However it could be something like that. When i add the tvshow source using NFS (and all the other ways/times i have done this) I can see all the TV-show sub folders like tvshows/game of thrones and so on.... however using AFP in these new builds (not the one from the 8th of september) i can only choose the tvshows folder. I can not see all the subfolders or choose one of those.

If i use the "files" feature TVshows just comes out empty. Normally this can be used to see everything in the folder (both scrapped and non scraped items).

Could this have something to do with it?
