Doombelly Wrote:Thanks for the answer but enabling the hidden files did not do the trick.

However it could be something like that. When i add the tvshow source using NFS (and all the other ways/times i have done this) I can see all the TV-show sub folders like tvshows/game of thrones and so on.... however using AFP in these new builds (not the one from the 8th of september) i can only choose the tvshows folder. I can not see all the subfolders or choose one of those.

If i use the "files" feature TVshows just comes out empty. Normally this can be used to see everything in the folder (both scrapped and non scraped items).

Could this have something to do with it?

yeah ... if you can't see it in file mode - scraper won't see it aswell. Do you use symlonks in your shared folders or something like that? Please post a ls -alr of your tvshows folder - and which afpserver u are using so i can try to reproduce.

Thanks for trying to help out!

I am not sure if this is right. However if i do your command on my synology i get the following:

I am not sure of the AFPserver as it just comes with the NAS

please do a "ls -alR "Game of Thrones"" and paste this ... beware the R us uppercase ...

I get an error using Game of Thrones. Not sure if i do it right.

I pasted the result for my Dexter folder:

Yes saw that too. It isnt anything i created. My guess it is something the Synologys done. Please let me know if you need anything else.

AFP works fantastic! Installed a nightly build for the first time ever (went very well), then went into OS X Preferences, set up AFP directories, and ZeroConfig did its job on the XBMC side, everything worked perfectly from the get-go.

It also updates the XBMC directory instantly as changes happen on my Mac filesystem. Big change from UPnP where refreshes only happened when booting XBMC. And, video & audio start within seconds of choosing a video file, again compared to UPnP (Majestic Media Server) which had audio start, but video would take about 10 seconds before appearing, and would fly by quickly in order to catch up to the audio! To be fair, Playback UPnP Server didn't do that though.

Tried the AirPlay (went in XBMC config and allowed AirPlay); my iPad sees the XBMC@appletv but nothing plays. Not a biggie though. Will let the nightlies go by, I'm sure it'll eventually be fixed again.

So, thanks @Memphiz & all for the great work! This is a major breakthrough for Mac OS X Lion users. Very easy to use, and rock-solid.

Paulkai Wrote:I just wonder from reading the above posts, is there a problem with afp share if you are using lion, no matter which build I have tried I can't get afp to work.

Nope, no problem with AFP share on Lion. I tried it last night and it worked right out of the box without a glitch, without using Terminal or any utilities to "set-up" AFP - which, by being built-in the Preferences pane, should work right from the GUI.

I think that a lot of users that have tried different sharing protocols to get XBMC to work again after good ol' Samba was modified by Apple in Lion, a lot of the core OS got modified by them while using Terminal. Erasing all of XBMC on ATV2 and reinstalling from zero might help, but I'm pretty sure that the problem now resides within your OS X install if you've tweaked too much the core system. Reinstalling OS X Lion might solve your problems.

Could you provide a log file for this problem? There is no regression known to me... (first link in my sig tells you how to get the log).

thx

Please reproduce the problem and if it still exists open a new thread with the log please (because it is unrelated to AFP).

Memphiz Wrote:Symlinks into other volumes definitily won't work. Sorry if i missunderstood you before.

no problem. but that's EXTREMELY important info to me and I think many others. That means again I'm back to the SMB issue not working on Lion. SMB allowed "wide-links" which means symlink to other volumes.

@eadir is something the Synology NAS creates. I would like to try to delete some of these to test if it works. But i can not find out how to do it.

On another note. It can actually scrap 4 of my movies. These files are located directly in the movies folder and not in a sub-folder as the rest. So it scraps from the movies folder but not the subfolders. I tried to copy a tv episode to /tvshows folder (instead of being located in a subfolder) to test that but that didn't not help.

Update: When i copied the episode to /tvshows/ i can now see the episode in "file" mode. However it will not scrap.

Memphiz Wrote:The crash is related to the new jpeg decoder... - dev is pinged ...

off-topic, but because AFP won't work for me without symlinks I reverted by my old SMB database. but then i was getting tons of crashes while browsing library. I reverted to older XBMC pre-11 version and those crashes stopped in same circumstances. I suspect related to "jpeg decoder" issue mentioned. But I can't find anything on trac.xbmc.org that seems to fit. here are logs:

http://pastebin.com/jTYcXqg4 (xbmc)
http://pastebin.com/yHRfQMFa (crash)

But why do you need symlinks for that? You can make multiple share points using AFP. As far as XBMC can see, it would be the same thing.

available to nonusers of nightly build - maccis - 2011-09-29

is there an ETA...?

I am stuck (have no time to upgrade) with ios 4.1 or is it 4.2... (hmm)

Well I use the latest stable/official release so I wonder when I will get the afp for my install.
