My ultimate HTPC setup (I got carried away) - mrming - 2011-09-18 Hardware: AMD64 powered slim HTPC - 4GB RAM, 3TB storage, ATI Radeon 3200 graphics TBS6981 DVB-S2 (digital satellite) TV tuner card Microsoft MCE remote Software: Ubuntu 10.04 (64 bit) MythTV backend (for recording TV) Mythweb (web interface for remote scheduling) XBMC with Xeebo skin, MythBox and BBC iPlayer plugins Transmission torrent client with web interface AirVideo server for streaming to iPhone / iPad VirtualBox running a TinyXP VM for iTunes / Spotify Premium and VNC server (for remote control of Spotify) Apple Remote app for iPhone / iPad (for music, podcasts, Internet radio) SNES9X and Gens/GS (Megadrive / Genesis) emulators launching from XBMC WiiMote and classic controller extender for control of games All of the above is plugged into a Samsung 40" HD1080 LCD, and audio is routed via my hi-fi. I've just ordered a Pioneer AV amp / receiver that can be controlled remotely via iOS app - this will be the missing piece of the puzzle, along with (eventually) some surround speakers. Edit - forgot to mention - the machine is on a 20MB DSL line with static IP and a custom domain applied so I can use services like AirVideo and set up recordings / torrents from pretty much anywhere. So what do you think? Have I missed anything out? Any further suggestions as to how I can pimp the setup some more?! - toineb - 2011-09-18 Icefilms - mrming - 2011-09-18 toineb Wrote:Icefilms Woah! - a5ian300zx - 2011-09-20 nice - do you have any pics of the setup? |
