just to be clear, do not confuse Instant Flash (the utility to upgrade the BIOS) with Instant Boot, the software that let you boot almost instantly (I still have to test this!).

I'll look into it!

Just want to point out, you can also update the bios from inside windows. I was too lazy to go find the usb drive to do the instant flash version, so I used the windows version to update the bios directly from inside windows. This seems to work fine also, as I can turn on htpc after performing shutdown from windows. Thanks again Balinus for a great feature finder.

Why not download it directly from AsRock website- E350M1/USB3?

Ya I downloaded the file from asrock's website, then executed the update bios from within windows rather than putting the file on usb drive then go into bios to perform instant flash.

woaaa, so your saying pyrospawn, that indeed,
you can PowerON from total OFF state!?

so no need for a CIR receiver at $25?

a simple USB IR Receiver plugged into the correct
USB port aligned with the eSATA one
does the job!?

- pyrospawn - 2011-11-28

Yes. I can indeed power on the htpc after performing shutdown from inside windows using the mediagate remote and its usb receiver. The usb port I used is the top USB 2.0 port in the rear (ASRock A75M-ITX FM1 MOBO). Looking at bluray pic on previous page, it would be the port above the red arrow.

- pyrospawn - 2011-11-28

Yes. That's the one I connected the USB receiver with extension cord to. Just remember to do manual reboot after the 1st shut down after you change setting. After that. You can boot up PC after shutdown using remote.

- eskro - 2011-11-28

wow, brilliant!! Balinus, is that the USB port u use too?

- Balinus - 2011-11-29

Yes, that bwould be the one. However, the ports are not disposed the same behind my A75M-ITX and the E350 counterpart. I'll take a picture tomorrww.

- eskro - 2011-11-29

right on!

- Balinus - 2011-11-29

Well, no need to take a picture when there's plenty on the web

http://www.rueducommerce.fr/Composants/Carte-Mere/Carte-Mere-Mini-ITX/ASROCK/4851387-Carte-mere-ASROCK-A75M-ITX-Chipset-AMD-A75-Socket-FM1.htm Picture at the bottom of the web page.

So, both USB ports on top of the red eSATA port works.

I can even start the PC with my RF Keyboard, or my mouse.
