pyrospawn Wrote:Yes. I can indeed power on the htpc after performing shutdown from inside windows using the mediagate remote and its usb receiver. The usb port I used is the top USB 2.0 port in the rear (ASRock A75M-ITX FM1 MOBO). Looking at bluray pic on previous page, it would be the port above the red arrow.

yes Balinus and I have same mobo (A75M-ITX FM1). I was just pointing out to the port equivalent to mine on bluray's pic (Asrock E350). Sorry for the confusion. The I/O in the back is what you posted on last pic esko.

Does not work with the 5V ports on my ASRock H67MITX.

- eskro - 2011-11-29

oh ok, so i guess both USB2.0 ports work then,,,
Balinus uses bottom one and u use top one pyrospwan...

another thing,
any of u could somehow take a pic of the BIOS feature to enable?

its good to keep this as reference!
thanks!

I don't have anything to take nice screenshot of the bios handy. But there is a screenshot of the bios setup in the user manual on page 38. I have PS/2 Keyboard Power On ENABLE, and PCI Devices Power On ENABLE, which according to the manual allows to turn on the system from power-soft-off mode (S5) state)

- bluray - 2011-11-29

I spent a little time on it tonight. I updated the instant flash 1.40 version, but I couldn't find "PS/2 Keyboard Power On Enable" option in the bios. Maybe, my E350M1 mobo don't have this option. I didn't have very much time to dig around either, because I have to go to my girls soccer games. It happen to be parents against teens today. Those teens are very tough kids. They ran all over us on the field. It's always very fun to join these activities with teens though. Smile

hmmm,,, none of those 2 refer to USB... isnt that weird?

K. Less tired today. So looking at the user manual again for the Asrock A75M-ITX mobo. On page 49, there are these options which include USB remote/keyboard/mouse to power on PC.

Restore on AC/Power Loss
This allows you to set the power state after an unexpected AC/power loss.
If [Power Off] is selected, the AC/power remains off when the power recovers. If [Power On] is selected, the AC/power resumes and the system
starts to boot up when the power recovers.
PS/2 Keyboard Power On
Use this item to enable or disable PS/2 keyboard to turn on the system
from the power-soft-off mode.
PCI Devices Power On
Use this item to enable or disable PCI devices to turn on the system from
the power-soft-off mode.
Ring-In Power On
Use this item to enable or disable Ring-In signals to turn on the system
from the power-soft-off mode.
RTC Alarm Power On
Use this item to enable or disable RTC (Real Time Clock) to power on the
system.
USB Keyboard/Remote Power On
Use this item to enable or disable USB Keyboard/Remote to power on the
system.
USB Mouse Power On
Use this item to enable or disable USB Mouse to power on the system.

P49 of A75M-ITX manual :

"USB Keyboard/Remote Power On
Use this item to enable or disable USB Keyboard/Remote to power on the
system."

In ACPI configuration. Will take a picture in a couple of hours.

edit - hehehe didn't saw your answer pyrospawn!

Yes, please take the screen shot of ACPI configuration where it show "USB Keyboard/Remote Power On". I was in ACPI configuration last night, but I didn't see "USB Keyboard/Remote Power On" option. My manual book don't have page #49 either. It have 46 pages, and the ACPI congiguration is in page #38.

I wish that MOBO included IR as my kid Xbox 360 Kinect. I can turn on Xbox 360 with my HP MCE remote without having to do anything! Smile

ahhhh, now were getting somewhere!

USB Keyboard/Remote Power On
Use this item to enable or disable USB Keyboard/Remote to power on the
system.

So far so good!

- eskro - 2011-11-29

thats perfect Balinus!! thanks a bunch!!

- bluray - 2011-11-29

Balinus- Thanks! It must be available only in certain AsRock MOBO then, because the 1.4version for E350M1/USB3 MOBO don't have these options. I updated the 1.4 version from here- 1.40 8/5/2011 Instant Flash 1.92MB Update CPU code. I'll dig for more info tonight!

- Balinus - 2011-11-29

No problem!

Bluray, maybe try the 1.5 ?
